Wow, I was just flipping through your pics and thinking how clean that 4R looks, then I saw the accident. Glad to hear it wasn't worse and good for the bus driver, never understood why people didn't think to put 'run away' cars into neutral or park. Too bad he decided to hit the pole though...

Whoa...ack, you lucked out on only taking a glancing blow. That could have been bad. Sorry you have to deal with the inconvenience of repairs, but the realistic alternative was so much worse.

Thanks, so far the body shop ordered me a tiny rental car (I'm 6'5") from the wrong company, that my insurance won't pay for, after I told the kid that I had a reservation at the other place, so now I have to go return 1 company's rental and get another from a dif company. But at least I have rental coverage so I don't have to drive the ack downtown every day

I like the Demello bumper because it's clean-looking and lightweight aluminum. Sorry to hear about your accident.

Holy hell, man that's wild! Glad you're okay.
Based on my single experience in being the recipient of an at-fault crash, I'd bet their insurance company is fluffing you 24/7 to avoid a lawsuit.

Had a buddy all lined up to give me a hand on Saturday putting my new painted front bumper and flush mount LED light bar in the grille, and then this happened Friday night.
Shuttle bus ran over a steel pole which pulled the throttle cable to wide open.
Driver lost control and came barreling at me head on at full acceleration. All I could do to avoid being killed or seriously hurt was swerve out of the way. Fortunately I didn't get hurt or killed, but he caught the back corner of my truck.
Sucks, but I'm glad that I wasn't hit head on, or it would have been REALLY bad. He couldn't stop the vehicle and barreled through me, and almost plowed into a cement wall, which I very well could have been pushed into. He went on 3 wheels and did a 180 deg turn to avoid the wall, and then threw it in park and pulled the key while the engine was redlining. Happy to be alive and unhurt. Getting estimate at the body shop tonight right after work.

Damn, Chris. Glad you're okay, man...I'm sure it gave you a scare and different perspective on how quickly things can change.
I think it's been long enough now that I can make this joke and it not be in poor taste.
Was this the driver?

I got rear-ended by a lady a few years ago (not a bad hit) and her insurance company was brown-nosing the shit out of me within an hour of the crash. They paid for the doctor's visits, paid for the time I missed from work plus 'monetary compensation for pain and suffering'. The lady who hit me was really nice about it plus I wasn't injured beyond a little back pain so I didn't go after her for much. Her rates were gonna go way up anyway....I didn't want to be responsible for making them go up more.

I'm just trying to get my truck fixed and make their ins pay for it since I wasn't at fault.
After some issues with the estimate submission, they finally got everything approved and started tearing the truck down for repair!

Yeah, I contemplated claiming injury, but I really am fine this time. I've been screwed up in the past by accidents.
Talked to the adjuster today, estimates are approved, money has been sent, truck is being repaired

Not a lot, just small accent stuff for now. Definitely throwing the new front bumper and LED bar on when I get her back, and probably a couple more accents

Hmm...let's see what those new additions look like and go from there! But, what MTEAZY posted above looks pretty darn good. That doesn't look cheap though.

I will never go that far with the Runner, trying to keep it as stock looking as possible with subtle accents. I have no need for a lift or steel bumper as I don't offroad that much.

For those who don't know, I was hit by an out of control shuttle bus, I swerved out of the way, but not far enough to avoid the hit completely. Here's the before
And here's a few afters
They did a nice job overall with the body work, however I have several complaints, and will never do business with that body shop again. First of all, they left my truck sit out in the rain for almost 2 weeks and never covered the tail light area where the wires come out from the interior, even after me calling and asking them to address this. I am not sure yet if my amp and sub were damaged by the water, but this is how they returned them to me... A grand worth of equipment thrown in the back like garbage.
Even funnier is that they replaced my sub enclosure with a brand new sub, amp and enclosure, even though my truck isn't wired to work with the JBL amp or sub, so it's not plugged into anything.
But either way, I got a new sub enclosure out of the deal, because 1 of the brackets was broken during the collision, totaling 2 that are now damaged.
The other annoyance is that my rear window no longer works with the key or the remote. I am hoping that I just need to reset the rear ecu, however the shop manager mentioned something about missing a component, which it had from the factory so I'm not sure if they lost something or just don't know what they're talking about.

That is messed up. Hopefully you get everything figured out with the rear window. To bad they didn't get you a new sub and correct amp too.
Body shops are so hit or miss I still take the TSX back to PA to a shop I have used many times if it needs something. Sad it has to be that way.

I didn't expect them to work on or replace the aftermarket stuff, but I would have expected them to at least call me and asked what direction I wanted to take.

That sucks. As for working with aftermarket parts, they should have. When my TL was rear ended the first time, their insurance ponied up for a new GReddy exhaust, which the body shop would've installed had I ordered one. They also replaced the ASPEC lip. Your car should be returned as it was, whether the parts are aftermarket or OEM. I could see if the wreck was your fault and you had a show car or classic that wasn't properly insured, but an aftermarket sub/amp in an otherwise stock car is covered, especially if the other party is paying. Rear window not working is BS, and they should "find" the missing part.

I've found that with most car repair places...communication is not their strong suit. Neither is courtesy or compassion.
At least the paint work is good (from the pictures)
If you step back can you tell in any lighting or angles that the paint is different, or naw?
I'm sorry for the headache, Chris. You've had nothing but bullshit from all these people you're paying. Bench test that sub/amp meow.
