Everybody tell him *not* to install it now and to wait until spring. That way he'll put it on now to spite us all. It's called Reverse Cowboyology.

Installed a PNP remote starter module this weekend. Wiring was pretty straight forward minus tapping a couple wires for the alarm. Sorry for the blurry pic, but it was raining when I was finishing up and I was trying to not get any water into the wiring area behind the dash. The remote start utilizes the stock key and is programmed to the key chip. I tucked everything back and wire tied everything, just didn't snap any pics after this.
And here's the car running, locked with the remote starter. You can see that it's pouring rain here too

Remote start is always nice to have. Those new plug and play kits are great. I assume the Toyota has the same stupid feature with remote start systems Lexus does when you open the door then the car shuts off and you have to start it again manually?

The OEM one does, this one doesn't. It locks the doors when it starts, and only shuts off if you hit the brake pedal or try to put it into gear without the key. The reason I like this kit is that it's programmed to the key so you insert the key and you can then put it in gear and drive without it shutting off and needing restarted.

What rack did you go with? That's too quick for a Gobi.

Yeah no way it can be Gobi that fast. I tried to convince him to go with that one though. Still think he should just install it. Will be the easiest way to hide the box.

Took a road trip to Cleveland last week, pulled into a rest stop right as I hit 12K miles on the old girl. They grow up so fast!

Added some footwell lighting from the limited model. Used OEM Toyota footwell lights for a nice subtle touch.
A guy on my forum made custom harnesses that were supposed to use the computer to come on when the doors opened and then dimmed when the car was in gear,. A lot of work for a couple LED's, but I had everything apart for the remote start install. This is what that install looked like...
After many slices on my hands, the end result was that the wire didn't work with my MPX computer, so it was a no go. This resulted in everything having to be removed so I could get the wire harness back off the back side of the MPX. Needless to say I was not happy at this point.
But the guy did send me an updated harness that taps off the dimmer for the HVAC controls, a lot simpler plug and play. Wish I would have had this design all along.
The stock trim panels under the passenger knees and the driver's side foot air duct both already had mounts for these (one of the main reasons I used this type)
Just had to widen the holes a little bit to fit the lights.
And the final product, a nice subtle touch. The lights come on with the dimmer or when the headlights are triggered, but also come on with the remote start so I'm happy with them. Excuse the dirty floor mats, it's winter

I mean I did use red text. Or whatever color is close to what red text used to be before we got these weird colors.
