I think bronze and black caps would look cool too.
RS has a point, but, I feel like the roof rails and wheels are far enough apart that you won't get that effect... so long as you can match the paint of the wheels, that is. A bit of flare, without being too much.
All black would look good too, but the bronze, at least to me, looks like you spent a little more effort on perfecting the look.
Yeah, I'm kind of leaning toward getting the bars powder coated bronze and painting the plastic end caps black, I think that might look good. The all black just looks really stock to me, even though they're stock rails if I'm going through the trouble I might as well do it my way lol (not my truck)
metal powdercoated black with a basket.
i get what you're after, looks wise...at first I thought it was like wtf are you doing to this poor new truck...
but it's like when you're between haircuts...as you get more rugged, the more I dig it.
any plans for a snorkel? I feel like you mentioned it before, but it involved cutting or something? Or am I making shit up? If cutting is involved, I too would not do it.
Brian's photoshop makes the end caps look dark grey instead of black... kind of throws the rest of it for a loop.
its just a sliver of bronze at the very top... I feel like it ties everything together. Any more bronze and it would be overkill.
But hey, the beauty of modding... be as creative as you like, and if you hate it, redo it!!!
it's already darker than the window trim... tough one because there was no contours on the original.
I think I made the biggest improvement to the driveway though.
No, on the rack if you ever want to visit a parking garage again.

It's definitely in between, shit I haven't even taken decent pics with the blacked out emblems lol. My gf said the same thing, she can't see the big picture because she doesn't know what it looks like in my head. It's getting there though
Gonna go home and try to swap out the ditch light brackets with the low pros and try to take a couple better pics

I've seen a rack and it looks nothing like that.
I saw the recent episode of hoovies where he tests out the snorkel he put on his Lexus and it never dawned on me that if you put a snorkel on it, make sure you're okay with water getting as high a the snorkel.
that said, I really don't think the bronze rails is gonna work...
but what do I know.
I almost think you could even do a gunmetal and black theme to go along with it.
I saw a pimp ass 4runner like yours on the way home just now.
Finally got some sunny nice weather after work yesterday so I went home and swapped out the ditch light brackets for the low pro brackets. Tried to do a comparison shot but you really can't see much difference side by side, but what a difference!
I did a couple comparison shots to show just how much lower they are, I'm super happy that I spent the money to get the lower brackets. Wish I would have ordered them in the beginning but the taller ones were part of the packaged deal so whatever, I still ended up saving money lol
You can really see the height difference here, the pods aren't up in my frame of view now while driving which is what I wanted
And both sides complete, so much lower and tucked like I wanted, so much better!
All installed, took less than 30 mins to swap them out and I took my time to make sure that I didn't scratch my hood.
And I snapped a couple pics of the black emblems while I was at it, sorry the truck is a little dirty. The black emblems definitely help with the aggressive look I'm going for and compliment the black LED fog lights and other black accents
Side emblems, the sun was fighting me
And the rear, looks so much better without the chrome!
I knew someone would comment on the license plate lol, old habits bruh.
They don't sell shit for my tail lights other than a module that turns the red LED's to be the turn signal and the upper clear to a second reverse light. Still not sure I want to mess with that wiring or not.
and yes, i hated how they sat before, now I dig em...money well spent.
I just meant losing the clear altogether...maybe having them sprayed with red tint in clear, with a hint of black?
look up srtninja on instagram...I think he custom fabs up vinyl overlays to make your tails look cool as fuck.
Yeah, I thought about doing some kind of nightshade or tint, but cops around here are dicks about tail light tint. Got followed in my Ack by a cop who made an illegal u-turn to come after me because he didn't like my tail light tint. Just not worth it.
I wanted to hate on the bronze rails but the PS makes them look pretty good! Emblem and the low mounted lights look MUCH better and while I agree Nightshades would complete the look, I can't help but dislike people that blackout their taillights, especially while I'm sitting in traffic behind them. Light tint, maybe but has anyone been sued for tinted tails in a rear end accident?
Oh, not sure you want to do this but I just pulled my cheapy Amazon LED bar apart and painted the face black, it would blend to your grill better. High temp paint and some dimes to cap the light cones and you should be good!

Just a small update, but Friday I bit the bullet and installed some LED high beam bulbs. I got a deal on these and one of the 4Runner guys that I follow did a review saying that they didn't flicker as DRL's so I jumped on them. I was running Sylvania Silverstar Ultras but they just couldn't keep up with the HID's and the LED pods and bar so I said F it.
The fans on these things are pretty big but after a bit of trial and error I got them to mount correctly
Here's a before of the Silverstar Ultras, I told the GF that I'd throw these in her Suby
Here's a daytime shot of the LED bulb, these things are freaking bright!
And all installed, took about 15 mins total and I wire tied everything to keep it looking clean
Haven't driven at night yet to really see how they look but they look damn good in the driveway and match the HID's pretty well
So much better not having that off white color. That should just about complete your lighting.
Only thing that would make it more complete is if someone could 3d print you a trim ring for the lower grill so you could cut an opening in the lower grill for the light bar.
