APS TT 350z:
ChicagoZ.com: What got you hooked to the Z that you ended up purchasing it?
BriGuyMax: I saw the new "Z" at the Detroit Auto show in January of 2002. I stood and stared at it for 20 minutes straight before my friend made me leave. I wanted a RWD Japanese Sports car, and it came down to choosing between a used Supra Turbo or the new 350Z. I couldn't justify paying over 30 grand for a 5-6 year old car, so that's why I have the Z.
ChicagoZ.com: What action does your Z mostly see? drag, autox, road race, show car, weekend car, and/or daily driver...
BriGuyMax: My Z started out as my daily driver, but now it's basically just my nice weather car. It sees the drag strip a couple times a year, and I'll start taking it to road courses again late this summer when I upgrade the cooling system.
ChicagoZ.com: Any performance specs? 1/4 mile@mph, whp/wtorq, track times...
BriGuyMax:
Power: 430whp @ 9psi, 460whp@ 10psi
0-60: approx. 3 seconds
1/4 Mile: 11.72@120mph 1.73 60'
ChicagoZ.com: What other modifications are you planning on doing to the Z, if any? Whether it's performance, handling, appearance, and/or sound system....
BriGuyMax: In the near future I'm going to upgrade the cooling system and install an oil cooler. I've also been tossing around the idea of APS 3.5in test pipes, APS 3in. true dual exhaust and methanol injection to see how far I can take the stock motor. If and when I blow it up, I'll have a built motor waiting to be installed.
ChicagoZ.com: Won any awards? Have any sponsorships?
BriGuyMax: Negative. My car isn't about show, it's about going fast and looking basically stock.

Bagged hybrid
doesnt matter how good of a driver you are if you get no traction on the launch. You need them slicks.

The VQ35 engine has to be my favorite engine of all times...
And apparently Nissan's favorite too, considering they use it in almost all their products.
Too bad I live in NE, otherwise, I'd consider getting one.

LOL...Brian is a good friend of mine. I've driven his car before and was impressed how OEM the car felt with the APS kit. His car has battle wounds right now. His front and rear bumpers need to be re-painted.

way cool man!! I have probably seen it..
I was at one of the meets up in the MT Prospect area.
I am friends with Dinokostas(Dino), he is stock except for enkei rims.
I will be attending some meets and hope to hitch a ride in something that hot and fast.

Quick question for someone with a Z. I'm watching my friends Z while he's out of the country and i cant find the owners manual in the car. There's a round yelow light by the gas gauge and i'm assuming it's a "low fuel reminder", but the gauge shows 1/4 tank. Does it come on that soon, or is it possible that the light or gauge is malfunctioning? Maybe it means something else? I don't drive it often and will certainly put gas in it so it doesn't run out, but i'd like any input for reference. Appreciate it!

No, its the round light directly under the "E". Like i said, i'm almost positive (out of common sense) it's the low fuel indicator, just looking for input from an owner on my post. Thanks for the reply though!

Why should living in the NE stop you from buying one? I live in Buffalo and have a ZR that I get plenty of use from.
