Old School 4 Doors
Old School 4 Doors
I am one bored child.
Every now and then I browse through classic sports cars checking out the gorgeous designs leaving Pininfarina, Bertone, Giugiaro, etc houses.
Anyway. I started looking at all sorts of cars then for whatever reason I started looking at old school 4 door luxury sedans of yesteryear. It was actually a post about the S Type that got me started and I started to dig into the roots of it. I tell you what those old school Jag Mark I and Mark IIs look really freaking cool.
I started looking at the origin of the XJ, etc, etc and I started thinking you know some of those old school 4 doors still look damn good and a lot can be had for VERY cheap. Haha, I started kicking around the idea of picking up a gen I as a side project and restoring it and throwing some crazy custom wheels on it. Redoing the interior. Maybe tearing the top off and doing suicide doors, just stupid ridiculous stuff, but anyway I digress.
Anyone else out there think some of those old schools coaches look good or is everyone else just a classic sports car only kind of guy/gal? If there's something out there you like what is it?

My all time favorite 4 door sedan is the mid 90's Mercedes Benz S-Class. That car has a timeless beauty that I just stare at everytime I see one. The lines are simple but outstanding. It's my goal to someday own one just so I can say I lived my dream. Someday...
I love the XJ and restoring one would be a cool idea. But would be hard as hell to find one thats not totally rusted out.
Im more into old skool BMWs. Would love to pick up a bmw 2002 and restore it. Im working on a BMW E24 now but thats not really vintage just yet.

1960s Lincoln Continental
late 80s Cadillac Fleetwood (dont ask)
W140 S Class
E39 5 Series
E38 7 Series
W124 E Class
Bentley Brooklands/ Turbo R
I know most of these are from the 90s but I think these cars were the last designs before all of the rounded styling and high tech stuff. They are boxy and classy, enough said.
