$68k for an E class wagon is not bad at all.... as long as it is not the 4 banger.
You can't get a 4 banger E wagon in the states.

The one I am looking at, has the Premium 1 package, and panoramic moonroof. Also the 18 inch AMG split 5 spoke wheels

Base price is 63K. With options 68xxx.

EDIT: Its not close to being fully loaded. If you fully loaded up, you can easily get to $82K or so, which is not something I am looking to spend for a daily grinder.

To call that a 7 passenger vehicle is pathetic.

^ as most of the so called 7 passenger cars.

Unless we are talking about Mini-van. Most of the 6 and 7 seats are good to have in case of emergency. They are all slightly better than useless.

Worst third row I've sat in was a 1G Cadillac SRX. They did very little to hide the fact you're sitting in the cargo space.

Dealership said those rear-seats are more meant for kids. Not adults.

I like it. Old-skoo wagons had that, I recall.

I think you can do much better if you wait for a bit ... i believe the car is still too new to have the "normal" mbz discounts like 8-10k off msrp.

Lunar Blue & Iridium Silver either with the AMG package, would get my vote.

yes

which is why I haven't pulled the trigger . $3500 off msrp for a wrong color wagon isn't enough to sway me yet

^ I could live without the pano roof, rarely use it in my F150. The Cardinal is nice, but not sure on brown for me.

Pano is a must have for me. Makes the interior feel a lot larger, in the back seat. Cardinal is #1 choice, and will probably stick to it, since I foresee keeping the wagon about 5-6 years, like my current DD wagon.

Also most dealer stock seem to have all ordered with pano anyways. Unless I can find time to order/do Euro delivery, I will have to take from dealer stock to get most discount, so I will likely be "stuck" with pano

That's how I got it, wouldn't have ordered it, but it was the only F150 configured how I wanted it in the city of Houston.

I like it when it's not the typical Houston 100*/100% humid, but the F150s have been plagued with rattle/creak/noise from the pano roofs. Mine's intermittent & I'm hesitant to take it in just to have the noise come back. Have seen a few fixes online that I may look into DIY over taking it in to be torn apart.

Shouldn't be a problem in the MB, no issues in my grandmother's S550.

I know lexus has been doing pano on the ES for over 10 years
my mom has one no issues
then again at her age hardly doubt it's ever been used

your s550 anecdote definitely is helpful. At the mileage I drive my DD I expect to keep it 5-6 years and don't expect pano issues; now that I said it I bet I get a lemon

i would get the pano just because it makes the roof look black, provides a good contrast with rest of the car.

Other than that, i have not opened my sunroof in the past 5 years. But i know some ppl use their sunroof everyday.

I personally don't ever open the sunroof

back in the day I had a 1995 mr2 turbo t top

the greatest joys of driving, aside from the chassis, was looking up at night and seeing the beautiful sky through the glass

so having sunrooof and pano etc, for me it's the glass , the airiness of the cabin, which I love. Since it can be shared with passengers is an added bonus

I would have to have the pano roof when it rains and i can just sleep in the car looking at the rain drops. Unfortunately, I live in LA... so little to no chance of enjoying that.

3 years ago we did a road trip that encompassed exactly that. La to red wood forest in November, when all the tourists went home

glass roof you can hear the see the rain drops (friends SL)

we would stop and hike in the forest

the low clouds coming off ocean and hanging up in the forest , thus as you hike in moist air of the November rain forest , as if you are waking on clouds

simply spectacular

I agree that the pano gives a nice contrast on a lighter colored car. Iridium Silver with pano roof Cardinal Red should look great too.
I'd expect a higher degree of quality from even a C-class MB over the pano in my Ford.

Those are great plates. Don't get rid of them.

Does this mean though that you have picked up the new wagon? Love that interior.

One of the reasons my wife is keeping her car. She thought for a brief moments about trading hers in for the new body style, but she likes the one she has better. Not that the new ones are ugly.... they're actually quite sexy in person. Just that MB made the "C" and the "E" too similar which is odd...

Although I will say you can likely get a W212 E63 Wagon pre-facelift for not much more than that

I like the one right before the facelift. Pretty much the wagon version of what we have.

The one before that? Can't seem to be a fan of it...

I will . Just shopping still

I used to love the e63 w212 wagon. But once the face lift happens the pre face lift wagons looks horrendously dated so I don't want that

I have considered a few 2014+ e63 wagon. Price is about 75-85k for lower mileage ones.

Ao so I am looking at about a 15k delta in real world prices

Those are the years I am referring to for the wagon. I thought I had seen some slipping into the $60k range... but it may be mileage dependent. My wife loves hers and doesn't want a wagon, so I haven't really looked that hard

your wife's car is very nice

This will be 4th DD wagon, thus the replacement will need to be a wagon

^ Well, you can't go wrong either way. We've loved our Benzes.

Be advised though... if you do step up to the AMG, the services will cost a bit more than the regular MB models
