Don't know. Seems like people just label anything they don't like as rice nowadays.

GT-R Spotted in Annandale!

Yesterday I was pulling into a parking lot at the SE corner of Hummer/236 in Annandale. While scoping for a parking spot, I saw the black bumper of a GT-R! And, the space next to it was free!

I rushed over to the spot and began to pull in. At the same time I was pulling out my phone. I wanted to take a picture of my TL with this silver Corvette-eater sitting next to it. I didn't even finish pulling my car into the spot when a young (like 25 yo) Korean boy opened the door and sat inside. I rolled down the passenger window to listen to the GT-R start up; at this point I believed that the only gratification I thought I'd be getting was hearing it.

I managed to get a crappy video of the GT-R on my phone. If I ever get it downloaded, you'll just see this silver blip and hear me announcing "there goes the GT-R!" The GT-R then "sped" eastbound on 236 further into Annandale.

What's really crazy is that an hour later I was going eastbound on 236, and the kid in the GT-R pulled out of a side street and then went west on 236. I got to see it again! And yes, I rolled down the window. Damn, that is a sweet sounding car!

Anybody know this kid?

There's also a black one that rolls around Nova. Got him to pull into my dealership a few months back and he let us sit in it and take a bunch of pics. He said he had just got it off the boat a few hours ago and hadnt taken it over 3500 or 4500(cant remember which) yet.

everything i was gonna say has just been said...not that nice of a car, but always cool to see...i've already seen plenty in chicago. and also im glad he didn't explode his tranny b/c that is a video i would love to see!

what gets my heart racing is the Gallardo Supperleggera I saw accelerating through the tunnel on I-94!! too fast for my camera...but thats a story to tell b/c i will NEVER see that car ever again...

thanks for sharing tho, always entertaining, now start counting how many skyline's you'll see this year.

It's just a high tech, somewhat expensive Nissan. An R34 GT-R roaming the streets in a US city would provide a bigger "wow" factor for me. Somebody would have had to gone to a *lot* of trouble to get one of those over here. Anybody with more money than common sense can have an R35.

I agree...I love S15's. The older Skylines are my favs out of those. The new GT-R is still growing on me...they're just so huge

Meh, i see GTRs on a weekly basis out here. The novelty is long gone. But, the superleggera is teh hawtness and the gallardo (cabriolet not superleggera) i tested at the gallardo roadshow was much more exhilarating to drive than the silver GTR i drove.

There's a black one in NoVA and a white one in Rockville/355.

Big whoop.
