That much for a burnt out light bulb? Wow, I knew the S2000 was desirable but didn't know people wanted the broken parts from it!

So it's funny you say that, mine has been intermittent for like 3 years now. I can flick the dashboard a few times and it'll come back to life.

I've never taken the dash apart before so I've got no clue why it's got a weak connection

Even at $22k, it is still "cheap"

$18k now with 4 days left....

I replaced all the dash bulbs on the S2000...
it was easy and cost less than $60 IIRC.

SamDoe1, how do you like the Trailhawk? The miss wants the new 2017 Grand Cherokee Trailhawk over the Lexus GX. Curious on your experience on reliability. I know the Jeep will probably outperform it on the off-roading.

No, no... What she really wants is the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, not the trailhawk.

Note that I have the normal Cherokee and not the Grand Cherokee...

But that said, I like it. It's a decent daily driver but other than that it's your normal pretty dull crossover unless you're taking it off road. If you're not going to do that, buy the CRV or RAV4 and be done with it. They'll be more reliable and hold their value better. For the reliability of the Jeep, it's been great. Only issue I've had was a squeaky idler pulley which was replaced under warranty. Aside from that, it has been 24k trouble free miles and that includes a good amount of off road driving. I plan on giving mine to the wife and getting something more entertaining to drive in the next few months but not because of reliability or anything like that.

FWIW, the Lexus GX, with some mods like new bumpers, will be MORE off road capable than the GC Trailhawk as it is essentially a Land Cruiser Prado with some leather seats and low hanging bumpers. If you're not going to go off road beyond a gravel road, don't buy either. Seriously.

Hey guys!

Just wanted to contribute a couple pictures of some clean S2000s we saw recently:

We saw this AP1 for a new clutch and control arm bushings this week. It will be back soon for some new Recaro seats!

Prior to that we installed a KraftWerks supercharger kit on this Grand Prix White 2007 S2000:

Went to a local meet and passed some guy in the parking lot as I was pulling into my spot. Then I saw this:

Its 5:20 and my car comes in at 5:15. Ugh. I was the only S2K at the meet.

Yeah, I wish I had the funds to build a GX rig. They look pretty awesome with a snorkel and metal bumpers.

ARB just released a snorkel for the 5th Gen 4Runner if you want a GX (champagne) build on a T4R (beer) budget.

You can't be on a beer budget and want ARB parts

If you want to talk about champagne, I'm on a Korbel budget. The 1st gen GX470 is more along those lines, the 5th gen T4R is like Bruery [insert day]

i love our 1G GX... i'd never get it off road worthy but for the few times i needed to get out of some deep areas, i was surprised at the 4WD capabilities for being a plush Lexus...

The bumpers are honestly the only thing holding the GX back and especially so on the newer ones. Some new bumpers that have better approach and departure angles would make the truck a beast pretty fast. Also, please don't add a snorkel to anything unless you actually need it lol.

For huy33, here's my thread on the Jeep so we don't clog up this one. https://acurazine.com/forums/car-tal...nk-gas-933061/

Of course! Drilling into exterior sheet metal is no joke.

I haven't put rear diff, locker, and transfer case breathers on yet, but Toyota was nice enough to at least route a breather for the front diff and actuator high up in the engine bay in the FJ.

This isn't that deep, but a few years ago a Wrangler in our group stalled out in the middle of a water crossing. Water went up to his headlights.

It's funny because I used to think they looked dorky af when they were first introduced. But then after seeing a bunch of different setups, lifted with beefy mud terrains, different bumpers, etc. I grew to really like them. It's a much better daily driver than a Wrangler, and the FJ was cheaper back then as well.

My wife said she wanted to put a snorkel on the 4Runner. I saw this type of picture from people installing them and it makes me cringe:
