Quote: ^^ do you have aluminum trim? If so, it probably works, otherwise, no. I guess my only beef with it is the enormous ac schnitzer label.

Then it probably looks good, esp if you've got an aluminum shift knob too. Let's see a shot of it with the rest of the interior

I got a question for you guys. DOes anyone here have the Mtechnic front bumper? IF so did you get it stock on your car, or did you switch bumpers? The reason I'm asking is that I am looking into buying this front bumper, however I was told it might not be a direct bolt on. (i.e I will need other parts to make the bumper fit right) Has anyone run across this, snd if so what parts did you need? I am also going to be ordering Vorsteiner E92 Coupe Carbon Fiber Power Dome Hood . Here is a pic of it. et me know what ya think [please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Quote: Either the finance guy is clueless and doesn't understand the difference between the two (maintenance vs warranty), or he's trying to sell you a nearly worthless third party warranty which excludes more things than it covers and has such a large co-pay, nobody would use it except for major problems. Did he happen to give you a brochure or plan name? If so, would you please post the details? If there really is a way to double the length of the warranty for that price, nearly every sane 335/535 owner would jump on it without hesitation.
Yeah no kidding. I got a quote for $5400 for 4/50 added to my S4 from INDS I believe. I know the S4's V8 can be an expensive thing to fix but there's no way it's 4x as much as a M3's

Dead? From the electrical crap or fuel pump?

Call BMWNA and raise all hell! See if they will buy it back even though you arent the 1st owner.

Jesal, I think it's the fuel pump? Car started, drove a couple hundred yards, then the battery and check engine lights came on. Car RPMs were all over the place and felt like my wife trying to drive stick.

Then it died.

Pushed it off the street. Battery is fine. Tried to start the car and it won't turn over.

So.. It's either a fuel pump (common, right?) or bad gas??? Doubt it's gas but I guess u never know.

They came and got my car. Going to the dealer now.

Damn Eric, it's been just painful to read your experience with your bimmer, hopefully BMW buys your car back. I just hope you won't completely cross the brand off your list in the future. Best of luck really

It could be the HPFP, but those aren't the normal symptoms. Were you getting long cranks before this happened?

OMG Scrib, I'm sorry you've had such rotten luck. I know ecxactly how it feels to have all of your excitement about a new car drained away by problems....

And BMW still hasn't updated my warranty info on the two year extension.

Guess I get to call BMWNA tomorrow.

So any thoughts on what it COULD be. I mean... This is almost to the point where I really don't give a shit.

Wow that sucks. I have a 2010 535i on order and the HPFP and injector issues have me more than a little nervous. Decided to go for it anyway and hope for the best.

When you say "won't turn over" do you literally mean the starter isn't turning the engine over or do you mean the engine spins but doesn't start?

Yes. In my opinion, it's not getting fuel.

Holy wtf, Batman. I can't believe this shit is happening to you. I just spent the weekend convincing my brother-in-law how reliable my car has been. Not fair. I shoulda sold you mine

Almost certainly the HPFP then. If so, at least it's nothing major (just annoying as hell) and the fuel pump is covered for 10 years / 100K miles.

Sucks to hear scrib.

Doesn't sound like the high pressure pump though because the car would still run, just very poorly. If it won't run at all it sounds like the main fuel pump in the tank.

Those were my thoughts too. You would have been in a limp mode.

Now that makes me nervous. Could u gave gotten a bad batch of gas?

The car was running 100% fine in the morning. And it started fine in the afternoon. FML.

If you had bad gas then i would have assumed you would hear pinging or hesitation way before the car died.

I doubt it was the gas.

Just try not to worry about it. Let the dealer sort it out and enjoy your loaner. Everything will be taken care of via warranty....

You make it sound easy.

Last time I "enjoyed" my loaner, I got in an accident. lol

So um, yea... It's not the HPFP. And it's not the fuel pump. And the gas is good.

I don't want to say too much, but I will say one word... "Timing".

Stay tuned.

That's a good question. When you say timing, do you mean engine timing or like the car is missing boost targets? I assume engine timing; in which case I have no idea how it "goes out of whack". I've talked to quite a few guys with boost target issues, and wastegate timing problems, but ya. That blows man, that car has to be a lemon. Will they buy it back or did I miss the post where you already addressed that?

Scrib, there could be the reason why the previous owner dumped that car so soon.

I say talk to BMWNA and see if they can cut you a deal somewhere. This is ridiculous.
