I really want to hold out to spring though, I don't see things getting a lot better by then so I'm going to be patient.

^Scrib, you've been wanting one for awhile man, why don't you just pull the trigger? Remember that we only live once. If you can swing it, I don't understand what's holding you.

That has also caught my eye.

I have a feeling phil2 is going to be right and that's when I'll pull the trigger.

Just so we're all clear, an extended factory warranty on these cars is MANDITORY when figuring your budget.

You've been warned.

Yea I havent seen anything major go wrong on the e90/e92 forums. Besides the fuel pump but hopefully BMW addresses that before warranty is up.

Im sure 07 335i will come down in price in spring, i mean its already two model years old.

Well my 335i has 35k miles and I'm on the original fuel pump (very early build, sep. 06'). I've had no issues other than a few rattles and the fact that automtic seat belt extenders have about a 50% seat belt grab success ratio (knock on wood).

I can honeslty say that in my one year of ownership of my 335 i spent WAY less time then i did in the first year that i owned my CL. I had gone once to the dealer because of my comfort access thingy malfunctioning.

I was just thinking about that the other day.

Isn't a bit too early to tell yet? I mean there aren't any high mileage ones yet. My biggest concern would be the longevity of a turbo.

Turbo's are pretty simple, that would not be my concern with a high mileage unmodded 335i, I would be concerned about bizarre(expensive) electric gremlins showing up.

Besides there are plenty of out of warranty 335i's out there, unless you mod them heavily, they seem to be very reliable, at least from what I've seen.

Really i have no idea how these have gotten so cheap. Heres a 335i with 15k miles for $29k!! Granted its bare bones but at least has sport package.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=160300182590

Whats weird is that i know someone who traded in his 335i with 8k miles and got $37k. Thats TRADE IN!! About 3 weeks ago btw.

Boggles my mind.

Holy crap! That's great value for such a clean car...it cracks me up that a 323i or CSX starts at 35k around here...

Man I'm soo pissed. I FUCKING HATE OLD PEOPLE AROUND HERE!!!1 I was driving on the highway today when so old fucker in front of me, ran over something (didn't even try to miss it) It blew up into little pieces and broke out my entire right front grill and cracked my windshield. I FUCKING HATE tourist season.. it hit the grill so hard it broke almost all the bumper tabs that the grill snaps into. The grill is almost pushed right into my radiator.

I saw that the other day, if it was closer I would have checked it out. Like with most things in life, I think patience is the path to a great deal.

Sometimes its not apples to apples, the car in the link jesal posted is pretty basic, if his friends was loaded with lots of goodies it could easily be worth a lot more. Factor in location differences, trade in differences and other unknown factors and its hard to compare one deal to another. My car in Cali. is probably worth $3k more then it is here.

I think as long as you don't have the 7 series you should be okay. It seems to me entry luxury (3,A4,C-Class) don't have many electrical problems. Its when you get into the (7,A8,S-Class) that your in trouble. It makes sense though higher level cars are going to have more stuff to go wrong.

Is that an 07 335 or a 328? For some reason it looks like a 328 rebadged as a 335?

It has the split dual exhaust/bumper. 328's have dual pipes that are directly next to each other. If it is a fake someone went to a lot of trouble.

Like I said I wasnt sure if it was or wasnt a 335. I guess my eyes are playing tricks on me.. The taillights and headlights/front bumper dont look like mine. Mayeb its cause it a 4 door or maybe cause its an 07.. anyway thats a hell of a deal.

The coupe and sedan look nothing alike on the exterior.

Well, if you're talking about long term reliability then yes. But my reply was to a comment about needing an extended warranty. The regular warranty is 4yr/50k, right? Extended is 6yr/80k? There are plenty of people over 50k and there have been no reports of major problems, no big recalls, TSBs, etc.. I doubt many people have hit 80k, and I am not one to make assumptions, but given the fact that for 3 model years the car has been reliable I doubt having an extra 2 years or 30k warranty is "MANDATORY" (as was mentioned in the post I replied to).

If the turbos blow up it'll probably happen over 100k, and no one is going to have a warranty at that point anyway.

I hate anecdotal evidence, but I see a lot of 335s and so far the biggest complaint I've heard are the seat belt butlers missing too often. One of my friends had his waste-gates replaced, that's it so far.
