The Official BMW 3-Series Discussion Thread
This. Although most used 328s near where I live are stripped-down models with hardly any options at all. No iDrive, no xenons, no leather, etc. Kinda annoying if you're looking for used ones. Finding a 3 series with nav around here is like finding a needle in a haystack.
No need to worry about that as this one doesnt have the nav in it. Price is around the 17K mark. Not totally stripped down version as it has auto, self leveling etc xenon headlights. Paint is clean, a few surfaces scratches here and there that can be detailed and taken care of, the only thing that stood out during a test drive was a constant whine from the engine. I know about the ticking noise that most BMW engines are common for but this was more of a whine, almost constant at low and high speeds. I would have made the deal final on Saturday but had to hold of pending an inspection by their tech and my mechanic.

Well damn let's not bash Jnc for not getting a new fully loaded M3...I think the ride looks awesome. I love BMW's brown interiors.
Jnc- I thought you had a newer TL. Is this a replacement or just another addition?

Finally bought a 3 series
So after two 5 series(well I still have one
), I finally picked up a 3. Bought a 92 325i sedan. Options include smashed front windows and a big f you carved into the driver side
Car will be serving as a Lemons race car next year. Right now my friends and I are still prepping it. We did do one autocross though with it and it did well considering.
Some cell phone pics

sat in a parking garage for one year with no front windows so the interior was REAL dusty

Heres a pic from the auto-x. Look at the body roll
The car sits suprisingly higher due to the stripping of the interior.

I need to get some recent photos of it with the fully stripped interior and the new wheels.

And then I bought another one
Picked up another one a few weeks ago. Was sitting in a storage lot at work. Its a 94 325is, I think. Car is a wreck, but that doesn't matter since it will be turned into a dedicated track car so it will be completely rebuilt.
Crappy cell pics again

Today I ditched my 2008 e92 335xi that was about to have the warranty expire at the end of next month and picked up a 2009 e92 335i CPO 6 speed also fully loaded with 32k miles for 30k. Woulda cost me almost 4k for a 7yr/100k mile warranty and no maintenance so this just seemed like the smart thing to do.
Meh, I originally wanted the RWD version and the 09 came with the updated Idrive plus 4 years of warranty. I wouldn't have ditched my 08 if the decision to switch to this 09 didn't make financial sense.
The front bumper has a lot of gravel damage, I was thinking about getting it repainted or replaced. Is there another option that I can look into as far as complete bumper replacement? Something more aggressive, but direct bolt on still?
On a side note, If the shown 4G hadnt been sold when I got there yesterday I would have traded my 3G for it as the price was very tempting and the car itself was immaculate.
I still have the 3G. This is just an addition to the family, I put down deposit on the car yesterday, the dealership tech figured out the whine and they are replacing the power steering pump as just doing a fluid flush decreased the noise but didnt totally eliminate it. Picking the car up either later today or tomorrow.

^^ Honestly, I use to feel the same way about the 4G in the beginning but over the years the shape/style has grown on me.
I tend to put a lot of miles on my TLs, have had a 2G TL-P with 257k miles (still in the family with 343k miles), an 02 TL-S which I sold around 157k, the current 3G has 112K miles on the odo and going strong. I have dont nothing to these cars mechanically beside preventative maintenance over the years.
Keeping that into consideration along with my budget and my only other stipulation that the new DD should have AWD I cant think of anything else but the 4G to replace the current 3G. Its not everyone's cup of tea but it works for me
One of the mods can take down the linked picture in the above posts btw, thanks

I don't know about the looks of the 4G, to me Acura failed with the big nose styling of their complete line up and lost a lot of sales even though the tech advanced with awd etc. after my 3G TL I wanted something faster with more mod capabilities but the 4g was never a thought because of styling. I like the 335's/135's a lot but love my Evo x and never looked back after trading my 3G for it, the only thing next I can think of is gtr.
No, it's not 3 Series related....but my Dad is really excited about what he is going to pick up tomorrow.
A 2011 535i Deep Sea Blue (I think) over Black with Premium and Sport Packages.
The dealer has already taken it off his website so I can't get (nor remember) all the details.
Since it was the last left over 2011 at the dealership he's getting a pretty good deal on it.

What do you think that car goes for? $70-80k? Maybe more? I have no idea what mint 3.0 CSLs go for.
I saw an ad for one on "bring a trailer" and the comments said the seller wanted "low 100s" for an all original car that looks like it might be a "2" or better.
A 3.0CS in very good condition is like $15-20k. The lightweight makes a huge difference apparently.
