I was there on Saturday and PLENTY of folks around the SLR were in silence.

My favorites @ 2005 NYIAS:

- Ford GT
- Volvo XC90 concept with a 625hp/440lb-ft turbo V8 SICK!!!
- Nissan Sports Coupe Concept
- MB R-Class (great for us family men looking to go upscale )
- BMW M5
- Acura RL A-Spec Concept (interesting upholstery though )
- Dodge Magnum
- OCC's Lincoln cruiser
- Chevrolet Z06 and C6R(?)
- 911 Turbo S

Notables:
- BMW restyled the rear of the 7-series
- SLK AMG looks to be a great sleeper
- I still dont know what to make of the Infiniti Kuraza
- The NSX displayed really made me realize that it's style is ageless
- Acura displayed a CL-P for their certified program
- The new BMW 3-series has a better presence than the outgoing E46
- I saw NOBODY looking at the Ridgeline displayed by Honda. (I'll post of pic of that shortly)

I think it's the fact that I'm in the car business that I'm not so fascinated with the car shows these days. I went to the show this year as usual, but was in a rush, so I only stayed for about an hour and a half. There were a few things that caught my eye, but other than that, I wasn't really that impressed.

 

Same here Shoofin: < 2hrs. I've seen better shows in the past. After the 1st hour (and after waiting 40minutes at the gates because the incorrect open time was indicated on the NYIAS website), I became more concerned with catching the express train back home than with seeing what else was there.

...and that "aftermarket" thing upstairs is now a complete turnoff.

This new IS really looks great. Close to $40,000 for what you get is going to be a great deal.

 

If I had known there were hot girls there I would have gotten some pics ... damn. I was told that Kia had the hottest girls at the show but when I went there they are all on break!

The Lexus girl for the IS350, was the best looking that I saw.

 

Show has gotten worse and worse in the past few years. Now everything thats worth looking at is locked or you have to wait behind 30 people who take their sweet ass time sitting in the car then acting like they could ever afford one.

The girls were decent though. The Jeep booth had some pretty hot women

 

WHATS THE CAR IN PICTURES #77-79

it says acura RL but it doesnt look like on at all

 

Its an RL. It looks like an RL. Just has an A-Spec body kit and some other stuff.

 

The body work on that is nicer in person but that baseball mitt stitching on the upholstery is nasty. Worse yet, it did kind of makes me think of the Pontiac Bonneville SSEi.

However, I'd like to see it in black with a black interior (sans the baseball mitt stitching).
