Not sure what to do with old car

I still have my 98 3.0CL but its just been sitting in my driveway for a few weeks and i need to get rid of it. The transmission needs to be rebuilt/replaced and im not about to pay for it since my car with a good tranny is only worth like $2k anyway...

any suggestions on what i can do with it, im looking into donating it but if i can get any cash at all for it, id rather do that

It's a first gen - I just looked mine up on KBB and they said I could only expect about $3600 on a good day.

What's the deal with tax breaks for car donations?

Maybe what you'd save on taxes would be comparable to what you could sell it for?

I think the general rule of thumb is that you basically get back a 1/3 of what the donatee value's the vehicle at. If he donates it for $2000, he will get around $666 back for it.
