Not bad for a Buick.

A few months ago i picked up a 2002 Buick Regal GS with 48000 miles, in amazing condition, for 4500. The car has every option that was avail. Well, I dynoed the car last week and made 319 whp and 332 lbs of tq.
Mod list includes:
-Pacesetter Long tube Headers
-Thrasher Cold Air Kit
-Resonator Removal
-Colder Spark Plugs
-180* thermostat
-44 lb/hr injectors
-and my personal favorite, a 3.0" Pulley
The car is fully tuned and made 296 lbs of tq from 2400 rpm and up till it peaked.
I had zero knock retard. The a/f was on the money.
This car sounds stock except for the loud whine when boosting. I'm keeping it stock looking, with the exception of suspension and brake work. It is a true sleeper. Next up is rockers (good for about 35 whp), and an intercooler with mate black heat exchanger.
Did i mentioned that i purchased this thing as a daily driver. My wife is going to kill me.

Believe it or not, the magna steer does a great job combating the tq. Plus the hd transmission is limited slip.

Awesome, i have thought about picking one up myself for a DD and beater and doing similar things. I have seen those things make serious power. Only problem is is i can never seem to find one close thats lower mileage. Most are in the 100K+ range

Yeah, i found mine by luck. On a side note, you can pick up a low mile gtp for good money.

Pics? I always loved them as a sleeper, never knew you can get so much HP out of them. My cousin's husband used to have one and i believe had an upgraded pulley on it, and it was fantastic, especially for the price.

Next mod should be a turbo....kidding.

Sounds like it's running great, and with no KR. How much boost does that 3" pulley get you? I wonder if you could sneak an extra psi or two out of it with no KR. Are the supercharged guys running methanol injection like the turbo guys are?

I'm actually thinking about picking up a GTP 2 door and doing a Cartuning Intercooled turbo kit. As for boost. i see about 9 lbs at WOT and 10-12 lbs right at the shifts. Car runs strong. Getting some more mods this Christmas, then I'm done. Pics are coming soon. Ive just been lazy. but its a Buick regal GS lol.

Are the mods in the original post applicable to a similar vintage Park Avenue? What's a good website that sells Buick stuff?

Thanks,

yes, just know that the park avenue is ungodly heavy. While the car can be made significantly faster than it is, it will still be slow compared to lots of already slow cars. It may not be worth it. But I'd do an intake, down pipe, colder plugs, pcm 1.0 and a 3.4-3.5" pulley. Its a good starting point and will get you a good 30 horses with about 2* of knock when boost spikes between shifts.
