Non-Acura Owners
I've notice that alot of people that comes here, doesnt even own an Acura or either used to own one. But that goes to show how great this site is for people to still come here even when they sold theyre Acura.
So, anyone here that doesnt own an Acura or used to own one, or havent own one yet but will in the future. Tell me your stories, what car you own now, etc

Someday, an RS6 Avant+
I had a 2G TL here in Japan for 4 years, but it was not sporty enough and the tranny was doing a slip dance. So I went to a Subaru 3.0 specB (not available in the US), and life is good.
There's a possibility a used RL may be in the future, but not yet.

In this part of the forum most of the people don't have Acura's anymore.
I came here when I got my 06 TSX, since that time I've has an 07 TL Type S and now a ZDX.
I may be in the minority, but I don't mind the beak at all. The only car it looked awkward on is the 4th Gen TL (until 2011). People used to say that Honda's and Acura's have bland styling, so the one time they decided to make a bold styling statement (I agree maybe too bold) people became outraged.

My parents have always been Honda/Acura fan. Mom used to own a Honda CRV - Dad currently owns an Acura RL.
I used to have an 01 Acura CL. After college I switched over to a 07 Lexus ES350 but got rid of it after a while for an 09 SC430 Pebble Beach.
The parents thought it was blasphemy that I went away from the Honda/Acura family.

hoping to join the non-acura club soon if i can get my hands on a 335i.
i dont like the direction honda/acura is going in general lately and have absolutely no desire to stick around to find out when they will start making more cars like the tl-s and rsx-s again. the new honda/acura is boring, lackluster, over styled, soft, anti-driver garbage.

That was uncalled for...
Never owned an Acura, I was a fan of the 3G TL so I figured I'd sign up for Acurazine and do some reading... Well, 7 years later I don't think I have more than 5 posts in the 3G TL section

Used to have an 04 TSX and then had an 04 MDX a few years later. Now I've sold the MDX for a 2011 STI and still have my 92 MR2 Turbo. I enjoy coming back here to see the random stories/pictures/etc.. posted by everyone. I still surf my old Prelude forum even though I haven't had that car in about 8 years.

Had a 2G TL and now a 3G TL. Probably my last Ack, unless something changes, radically, in the next year to 18 months.

Came to the site back in fall 2000, was looking for info on the CL typeS.
Signed up and read more and more, such a great place where everyone helped each other. I didnt even know what an intake was. When I was actually ready to buy, I went the dealer and saw a new 02 TL typeS. I was sold. But then later sold it after a year for a 330ci. Had a few cars after... and now currently driving an 09 m3.
I love this site for the reasons you mentioned. We are family. Speaking of which my whole family are Acura owners as well. I think it's a great company but lost it's way recently. I have faith they will get back on the right track though.

Bought my 05 TL back in 2004. I had it for almost 5 years. Loved everything about it.
But I wanted smaller and faster car, so I sold my TL and bought 2010 Mazdaspeed3 last year. Love everything about this car too!

- Been a car nut since I was 15 and have been on all types of boards.
- Joined Azine when I bought my 2003 TL-S.
- Found out quickly Azine = the most balanced and informative car forum on the net.
- Since joining, bought 2006 MDX and 2008 TSX.
- During my tenure, also had a BMW 3 and now a Mazda 6.
- Visited BMW and Mazda boards, but still not Azine quality.
- I love car talk and damnit, I love you guys (sniff sniff)

Never personally owned an Acura but my dad has had two; an '04 TL that got decimated by a Jeep Grand Cherokee and the '07 RL he still has today. I'm on my second Hyundai.
But as Crazy Acura said, this place is more family than anything. The people on this forum are unlike anybody I've seen on any other forum...they're wonderful.

This was what happened with my last Acura....

Pretty scary experience. Ever since my first Infiniti back in 06, I didn't go back to Acura... especially with the direction Acura has been going.
I now own 3 Infinitis: FX35, M35, G37.

Well my first car was a 2005 F150. Soon after I purchased it I started lurking around on Acurazine. Ended up selling the truck after two months of owning it (made a profit off of the sale) and got into a 2001 ABP CL-S. I regret it to this day but I traded in the CL towards my TL.
I'm keeping my TL until it dies, but when it does, I'll still be an active member of Acurazine

Lurked for quite some time while trying to decide what car to buy. Was interested in the TSX and TL, wound up with a V6 Accord. Figured I'd join since some of the suspension parts were interchangeable. Got front and rear sways and a CAI early on, then I decided to stop modding.

I shoot people
I joined back when it was acura-tl.com (in Oct. 2001), I wanted to find info on wheels, correct size/offset/tire size etc. etc.... Then it was lowering springs... and after that, I got super bored and I really didn't want to do anymore mods other than the wheels/springs... Somehow wandered over to "Off Tops"... I don't even remember the last time I checked out the TL sub forum.
In 2007, I bought a 2003 Infiniti FX45... the 02' TL-S was suppose to be a trade in, but they were going to give me sooooo little that I ended up keeping it. And I'm glad I did because it's my DD when I'm back in SoCal (currently on a "long visit" in Vancouver Canada, where I own an 06' Ford Fusion). The FX45 has a ton of mods... and it's a gas hog... It's nice to drive it when I do... but after 4 years of ownership, I've only put 20k miles on it.
I stay here because it's one of the few open minded car forums... I also belong to a couple Infiniti FX forums and over there... they're not very open minded at all. When I posted a thread about the Hyundai Genesis back in Jan of 08'... some of them laughed and were like... "WTF?! I would NEVER drive a 'Hyundai'..." etc etc... Anyways, I ran into one of those guys (in person) last month and he admitted he was one of those people, now he's on the waiting list for the Sonata Hybrid (and he's going to trade in his FX for it )

Welcome to the Off-Topic section!
Car Talk = Car enthusiasts who may or may not own an Acura (most don't) but still want to discuss cars. Many are also former Acura owners who still enjoy the site.
Me, I had a 1998 3.0CL, came here after h-a.net crumbled back in late 1999(I know reg date says 2000... but that's b/c of a database merge at the beginning where we all had to re-register)... so been here since day 1. After the CL had a 02 TLS. Sold it with about 75k on the clock (before the tranny warranty expired) and have owned other brands since. Likely won't come back unless Acura does something groundbreaking ()...

Joined the site when it was acura-cl.com I've had:
01 Acura CL P
01 Acura CL S
and now have a 08 G37 S. This community is magnitudes better than any car community on the internet. I've been on BMW, motorcycle, Infiniti and other misc message boards. They all pale in comparison.

I am likely in the opposite camp. I joined Azine back in 2002 but never actually acquired an Acura product until 2009. I have owned several Hondas over the years, three of which were Accords.
The historical irony is that I was more of a troll when I joined, messing with the 02-03 TL-S guys with respect to my ownership of my old 02 Maxima SE back then.

I was handed down my mom's 03 TL-S kinda. Registered after I got my driver's license I think, then looked on here for ideas for mods. lol
Ended up driving a Civic for school more often than not. Then I ended up with an Integra, which is an Acura but even then AZ never had an Integra forum. Then I wanted some torque so I ended up with a Camaro
I still hang around because of the aforementioned reasons.... good core group of people around here. The F-body forums aren't exactly open minded sometimes.

Still own a TSX but in the next month will be getting a 2011 Dodge Durango to replace the 12 year old Odyssey. Was set to buy a 2011 MDX but after looking and a test drive of the new Durango with a 5.7 Hemi V8 I got converted.

Accord owner. Originally wanted a TSX or TL... maybe one day. Depends on where Acura's design direction is headed. Not looking good as of late.

I joined after buying a new to me '03 CL-S, which I'd still own if I had purchased a 6mt instead of the autotragic. After the tranny died and was replaced, I decided to jump ship and trade the CL-S in on an '03 Accord Coupe 6mt, which I still have and love. And yeah, best forum out there.

Previous owner of a 04 TSX and 08 TL-S. When our 96 Voyager died and we only had the TL-S, I had to trade it for two vehicles. So now I drive a 06 CR-V and my wife an 03 350Z. Perhaps one day I'll get another Acura.
