No license plate on the front. is it illegal?
I hate having to have the front plate on. I wish NY was one of the states that didn't need them. It's so ridiculous to have both plates and a registration sticker in the window that doesn't even stick!!
I think it's illegal not to have one here in CA, but I've seen plenty of cars around without the front one on them ... I got stopped once so I put mine on just so I don't have to worry about it anymore ...
TL does look nicer without the front one though ...

No matter what you think looks best, the laws of the state are #1. In Texas, plates in the front and back are a must. I wouldn't be caught dead without a front plate even if people said it didn't look cool.
100 bucks if you don't have one on. Put it on, otherwise gives police a reason to pull you over. Looks fine with it on too...and if you spend a lot of time parking in the city, another reinforcement before a car pressed up against the front bumper cover.
In MA, if you have green plates you are allowed to have only the rear plate. The red plate started a few years ago only, so a lot of people are reluctant to ever change their plate numbers just so they don't have the front one.
It's a law here in UT, but I have ran without one for 5 years in my TSX/TL and never had any trouble for it, been pulled over twice for speeding and both times the cop didn't say anything about not having a front plate!
Every time i've been pulled over for no front plate, i swear its been by a rookie cop. Just recently it was an undercover team of 2 and the senior cop driving the squad car looked bored out of his mind while his rookie trainee was bouncing around writing his first ticket.
I hate the look of them and refuse to run one.
A lot of the members here wern't even born yet granpa.
In January of 1987, the Registry began issuing the red "Spirit of America" plates.

Love it. And love that inspections went electronic in 2009 as well, so no more stickers on the windshield at all
I just got two tickets in Beverly Hills for not having a front plate. The worst part is that I wasn't even in my car rather my car was parked on the street at a meter.
I guess the parking patrol has nothing better to do at 11:00pm, there goes $100 down the drain.

^ - Nothing better to do? Obviously they are doing their job - giving tickets. And a no plate ticket is generally more than most parking tickets
I got a no front plate ticket when I was parked too. Fortunately the officer didn't sign the ticket so it went away.

Those are popular here for the drifting / racer crowd. Speed cameras can't see the plate.
Fronts are required here, Germany, England, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, Italy, France, Denmark, Belgium, Luxembourg, Finland, Netherlands, and Denmark (countries I have been to).

Yeh....but then you have to live in Kansas.

Unfortunately since I lived in Jersey before this, I still had holes in my bumper. Taking it off just revealed all the scratches. So I have one of those PA Commonwealth Plates.

Unfortunately, law requires front plants here as well and I refuse to give the po-po a reason to pull me over after a few sake martinis for happy hour.
I personally feel the plate disfigures the clean look of the Porsche but my laser blinders would be a lot more noticeable without the front plate

Nor do we have those stupid county and state registration stickers on our windshields here like we had to have in VA. Registration is all electronic.

Im just going to put a custom frame on then to give me a peace of mind.
