My beater is a 97 Accord EX V6 with 165,000 miles on it and it's still running strong. I think it's a good choice for the money. (obviously, check on the miles, it may have 400,000 for all we know)

My wife had a 97 4 cyl, it was an F22 non v-tec in there.

have an accord of that gen. 94 lx coupe with about 125k and running strong. I would strongly recommend that you go with a four cylinder instead (with a 5 spd possibly), for better gas mileage and more fun. Not to mention that the four cylinder vtec (ex) model is actually a hair quicker than the V6 off the line because of the weight of the six cylinder - which itself dates back to the six cuylinder used in the 87-90 legend which in turn was borrowed off MG rover (i think). Basically, its an older engine, and I dont think it truly provides the benefits of a V6.
BTW, an EX VTEC with a 5 spd would get around 25 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the hwy.

That car looks to be in excellent condition. The leather looks great as well as the rest of the car. I don't think I'd be worried about the mileage since it is highway..for $3500 that's not a bad beater at all.
