Who is AutoMag, I've never heard of it, oh maybe because they are a bunch of Crackheads. LOL Anyone who would pick a BMW 325(not even the 330) over the G35 is smoking something nasty and highly illegal. Not even to mention the underpowered TSX over either of them.
I've seen the TSX but haven't driven one. Those things are damn small, and very, very SLOW!!! Sorry, to be in that group of cars, you need to have some performance, c'mon, at least mid 15s.
Personally, I don't think it should have even made the cut, but that is just based on numbers I have seen. And my observations, I'm sure it drives well, but c'mon guys, 16 sec times?
I guess I should really try to understand their criteria, because obviously performance was pretty low on their list.
And no, most of you know I am not an Acura hater, its just I think the TSX is a joke.

being an acura fan, I'm happy the TSX won and all, but come on, how credible are these guys? I can't see the TSX beating out the G35, or the overly appraised 325i, I wonder what gives? what in hell was the deciding factor?

tsx
When I went to the Acura dealer back in june to purchase a new car, I went there looking to buy a CL. when I walked in the showroom there was an 04 TSX with the body kit in Blue sitting there .. I really liked it .. took it for a test drive .. LOVE the guages, love the interior .. way too underpowered. It got out of its own way but not what I was looking for. Handling was amazing though .. cornered like it was on rails. I almost signed papers on it until my friend who went with me told me before I settle on this, just take a CL type S for a ride .. as soon as we got back from the test drive in the CL I had my salesman rip up the papers I almost signed on the TSX

Also, seems a bit pricey for a rebadged Accord. I would take a CLS or TLS over it in a heartbeat.

Zapata - You're right. It's not all about the 1/4 mile. But come on. While I think the TSX is a nice car, I can't see how it scored better than a Bimmer or a G35. TSX = Accord in every sense.

g35 is certainly a car that is preferred to most members on this forum. but lets stop mentioning the 325 because that car is the biggest waste of money on the market. around my area we call that car the "rich boys toy and the poor man's car".

Just last week GF and I test drove TSX and G35 and bought a G35. It's totally apples and oranges. TSX is nice car for what it is, but it's not in the same league as the G for performance. The TSX ain't bad off the line, but has nothing to offer for freeway passing. And the G with the performance pkg (which we got) is waaaayy more planted. You'll spend a few grand more for the G but it's a true performance sedan. The T is a nice commuter. Can't imagine what they were smokin.

Even based on price, kind of a weird comparison test.
What is this based off of?
The TSX is a nice car, I drove it but almost fell asleep behind the wheel.....way too slow for my tastes.
325i?.......no thanks.
G35 sedan (especially with the 6spd)....lots of performance for the money.

From what I gathered, it seems that the TSX won because it offers the most standard features for its price. That is the ONLY advantage that it has over other cars in the $30K price range. It doesn't offer more interior room, performance (straight line, braking, handling), HorsePower,...etc etc at its base price compared to the others.

Not really, I just think that a sports sedan should be more than just handling. Oh, and I looked it up, it is not a 16 sec car. C&D had an article where the manny tranny managed a 15.6, which is acceptable in this class, but still way behind a G35. So I hereby retract my prior statement. It is worthy of being in the class, but I still don't think it should be ahead of the G35 among others. Just my opinion, maybe I should go drive one before I open my trap.
Also, seems a bit pricey for a rebadged Accord. I would take a CLS or TLS over it in a heartbeat.

Agreed.....it is much more than the rebaged accord........ just like a infinite is much more than rebaged nissan from japan and a lexsus is more than rebaged toyota.
tsx lacks the umphf, however, the base tsx isn't meant to haul ass. IS300 and a4 are pigs as well.....

jesus, why does everypme always go "the tsx is just an accord" by that logic so are all the TL/CL's and all the wonderful G35's are just altima's. yes the tsx was BASED on the euro accord, but it is NOT the same car
IMO the TSX has the nicest interior out of all the cars in the lineup, maybe that was a deciding factor
i certainly agree the TSX needs more power, and maybe a LSD. the stick isnt a dog, but certainly the car would be much more fun with more torque/hp. with the new TL coming out at 270hp that leaves acura room to bump up the power in the TSX for 05 or 06. if we're lucky maybe we'll get a hybrid tsx withing a few years and then it would supposedly keep up with the evo even...
last comment, go drive the damn car before you bag on it. if you still dont like it, thats fine

Camry=ES300
Euro Accord=TSX
I35=Maxima
The defunct Caddy Catera=Opel something...
These things sell, so apparantly people would like a different slant on the same car. The US TSX is the pretty much a modified Euro Accord. There is nothing wrong with that, but it is pretty much a fact.
Is there another car the the TL/Cls are based on in Hondas lineup? I really don't know, but they are far from Accords.

The TSX has a decent interior but that does not make it the best 30k sedan. G35 is so much better than all those cars on the list it should not have even be in there. G35 interior has plastics but the tsxs interior is not much better "ain't no bmw inside the g35 rwd v6 vs fwd 4cylinder, decent leather interior, nice looks, and add in the speed the tsx is the biggest fraud ever.

The G35 interior looks and feels cheaper than my old Civic - like they spent the allotted money on engine/body and forgot about the dash!
