New Volvo S80 owner
Decided I needed to take advantage of the absolutely fantastic deal Volvo was giving me for the new S80.
2007 Volvo S80
Sport Package (18" wheels, bi-xenon headlamps, active suspension, perforated leather)
Climate Package (ventilated seats, rain sensors)
Park Assist
MSRP: $45K + tax
Leased through Volvo Finance as a loyal customer.
$700 due at signing (includes first payment, tax and tag).
$399 per month x 24 months (plus tax comes out to $425 - first payment already in above inceptions)
10,500 miles per year (just about what I drive).
No pics yet, but the this link has the exact color and rims. I got the 3.2 liter tho.

Thanks everyone. I know the V8 would have been a much better choice, but I decided to ease it a little in both lease payments and gas expenses. I was looking for a deal in an in-stock car, and the 3.2 with Sport Package I got was a great choice.
I still cant believe the deal. Negotiated pretty good.

Sweet! That's a killer deal. My MSRP on the R was $45k and after my trade-in and wifey's Ford discount, we got a lease for $383/mo.
Where the pics at????
Oh...and does the front impact sensor work well? I think that's a cool feature...especially when freeway traffic goes from 80 to 0 in a matter of seconds!

The key, i just leave it in my pocket and press the Start button. Now that was sweat!
No pics yet, I am at work. People cant believe the killer deal here. And they just opened their eyes about Volvo. I guess most people think about other premium brands before they turn to a Volvo.

most people i know have been turned off by volvos because they only know them as the "box" cars. but i think the recent styling and designs have helped.
i think they make the best looking wagons, and it's interesting to see how many people have never heard of the s60 r. my friends were surprised by the car when they went with me to test drive one. they didn't know it existed. after laughing at me for wanting to drive an "old man's car," they wanted to take it out also.

I based the decision on my yearly average and:
Maintenance in this car is every 7500 miles. The first one is covered by Volvo. I take care of the 15K one, and that is it. I dispose of the car at 21K miles.
Another important thing. Tires. I will try to make them last 21K with 2/32". No need to spend a grand in tires.
Finally break pads. Ever seen how much are those expenses with Volvo? High! So I will rather just don't spend an extra penny and get rid of the car.

They will do great. I am a happy camper with Volvo. My wife's XC90 is outstanding too.

Soft - (Comfort in the S60's) Nice smooth ride for freeway travel or on any rough surface. Keep shifting smooth too, while keeping the shiftpoint at low RPM's.
Sport - Probably your every day driving setting. Great for any 2 lane roads with turns here and there. Not as smooth for the long haul on the freeway. Nice for in town.
Advanced - Stiff susupension setting for spirited driving. Will also take your shiftpoints close to the peak of the power curve. You'll notice that the car won't downshift right away either...so engine braking is in effect on the twisties.
If you have the "S" button next to your gear shifter, that's the sport setting for the tranny...helping you get through gears based on an agressive or passive driving style. If so, you can toggle that off and on for the Soft and Sport settings, but it will come on by default in Advanced.

You going to mod that thing or stay bone stock?
In case you haven't looked around yet, there's a couple places to be:
IPD <---Great Vendor
Evolve
as far as boards go...Swedespeed.com is by far the best for getting real info and tips. Volvospeed.com is a huge forum, but mosty b.s. topics on there.

Nice pickup. The s80 looks really nice. You got some sweet payments on that lease.
My wife's R has been pretty reliable for the most part. I'm personally not too big on the 4C system though.
