New Rl vs. M45 vs. GS

Great idea heyitsme.
1. GS
2. M45
3. RL
Interiors are pretty even to me, it all depends on what u really like. Exteriors, it is just clear from those pics the Lexus has curves and contours the other 2 can only dream about. But honestly, all 3 are winners in my book.

I would like to add three more cars into this competition, and they are the new BMW 5-series, Mercedes-Benz E-class, and the upcoming Audi A6. And I also like to split the rank into exterior and interior, so these are my votes:

1. Infiniti M45
2. Mercedes-Benz E-class
3. BMW 5-series
4. Acura RL
5. Lexus GS
6. Audi A6

m45 and M concept appear to be different.
not really fair to know what the RL has in stock in terms of a A-spec model, or Type S. And GS line doesn't have a higher up model either.

"Significantly, the new GS will feature all-wheel-drive, the first such application in any Lexus car, and offer the performance enhancements and advanced vehicle control of the Lexus Vehicle Dynamic Management (VDM) system. Monitoring a variety of sensors, the system is capable of anticipating the onset of a vehicle skid or slide and then helps correct the situation with a combination of braking and throttle control. The new VDM system is less obtrusive than conventional VSC but ultimately more effective. "

1. E class (beautiful overall)
2. M45 (10 times better than the current version)
3. 5 (looks good, but M5 looks so much better than 5)
4. GS (front is just too weak.)
5. A6 (front grill is too big)
6. RL (huge mistake)
RL is a huge mistake. it looks nothing like TL or TSX and that's a big shame.
GS could've been much better if they fixed the boring front grill. it is just too weak with no presense IMO plus why lexus had to copy maxima's rear?

as far as the outside the M45. The RL looks too much like a mazda 6. Which is a nice design but, not an acura design. Plus the Lexus is way too way out dated!!!!!

1 M45 (V8 power, rwd, solid ext and great int)
2 GS (not hot for the looks, not progressive enough, lexus quality is almost a definite)
3 RL (nice interior, ok ext a lil too understated but i just need the full push from a V8 even if the rl does have AWD the feeling just cant be the same)
BTW, E Class > *

This is really hard. Can we have engine specs? I think i will say either M45 or GS 430 then the RL unless the RL has a strong motor to compete with the other two.

After searching for specs on three cars. I would have to vote for the M45 on this one. The GS 430 looked nice from the front, but Eww from the back. U cant beat Lexus comfort and sound isolation though, but i would still vote for the M45. The RL needs more than 3.5L V6 300HP to compete with these two. I would take the RL over a GS300/330, but not over the GS430 even if its looks bad from the back.

I think "family look" is very important for luxury cars. The new RL hasn't adopted the look from the gorgeous TSX and TL, and that is not good. Lexus vehicles still hasn't created a consistent look that anyone can distinguish their cars from the other brands without looking at the badge. And that's the thing Japanese cars trailing behind the European ones, especially the German and the Sweden. The new M45 is definitely similar to the current G35 sedan, and even better in my opinion, I wish they will transfer this look to the next generation Q also.

Well, I just came back from the NYIAS and saw each of these cars firsthand.
All three ROCK!!! (NOTE: I'm also inclined to toss the TL A-Spec Concept into this trifecta)
That said, the M45 OWNZ!! Though the GS and RL are close (and tied for second) IMO.
Peace.

i voted M45 because i would most like the m45 every day, but if it came down to it i think it would be tied with the GS because of relability, would be a tough choice
