So my dad is looking to get a new car.. of course i am encouraging him to get the 09 TL when it gets released, but hes not too comfortable buying the first of the new model year.

hes also considering the bmw 5 series. i love everything about my TL and he currently drives an 05 pilot which he really likes. we have also always owned honda's so i dont know about the possible leap to a bmw.

my question is, what would we be looking at for price between the 5 and the tl with comparable features and engine (i know the tl is not released, but looking at how acura has been pricing the tl's, estimate would be appropriate)?

he isnt really looking at any other cars besides those two, not into audi or benz.

 

535xi base is around $52K.

I guess technically to compare apples to apples it has to be something with AWD since the new TL will have SH-AWD
