New Paint Job?

OK, so the CL-S has been paid off for a while now and now I would like to paint the front bumper, hood and front quarter panels (where all the rock dings are). I got a qoute for this late last year for about $1500. I really want to get the whole car repainted (the original color) because of little scratches here and there but I heard somewhere that you should keep your original paint job because the quality is a lot better than a repaint. The car looks great because I've kept the paint up very well, but when you get close... It is mechanically sound (always been to the dealership for service) and I want to keep it for another 5 years until I get another car.

Anyhow, what do you think? Should I just get the whole thing painted or should I just do the front end? Oh, btw I am saving up for some Axis Mod Sevens also.

I got quotes from two reputable body shops to refinish small dents and repaint my hood and front fenders for about $700.

wouldn't a FULL re-shoot of the whole car cost @least ~$3,000 for a decent job?

Take it to a detailer and spent the money for them to get all the surface problems out.

Respray the front end to match.

I wouldnt respray the whole car unless there was serious damage

Sounds like you guys are just as conflicted about this as I am...

I just want my baby back to normal without A: ruining my car (cheap paint, not matched well) or B: spending a small fortune (5 grand for a pro job).

I think I'll start to shop around a inquire...

not sure about how much better the OEM paint is compared to a new paint job, but my car will be 75% repainted cuz some dick heads keyed it all around.

I'll let you guys know how good my paint job will be.
