New to me 2001 GS-R
Apparently these things still do exist. Someone just listed a '99 white on black GS-R with 70k miles on Craigslist. Never modified & no accidents. Asking $9,900. That's a bit steep. No pics.
Congrats! I just picked up a 98 GS-R 5spd in july. Tho this one may have been a bit molested, has quite a few mods on it, but so far the only issue i've had is the EVAP canister needs to be replaced. Other than that its a blast to drive, I get about 300-320 miles to a tank and have been getting a combined 70hwy/30city of 30mpg. Its in pretty good shape, some dings on the out side, but for $3500 bucks i could'nt pass it up.
White on black is one of the most sought after GS-R's. Make it a sedan and the price increases even more.

Damn I had a white on tan 94 4door GSR I so loved that car... but I was young and sold it in 2000 to some kid who crashed it two weeks later...... broke my soul I tell you. ;-(
nice pick up....I'm currently eye balling a 1 owner, unmolested 01 GS-R black on black. most maitenance done at the dealer. has 112,000 miles on it though
I think i am going to go look at it this weekend....maybe even purchase it.

The more I look at these the more I think I might want to get one. As long as the timing belt has been replaced and the thing isn't completely riced out or wrecked mileage even in 130K+ shouldn't be a problem, right? Honda's were great in late 90's early 2000's. For $4,000-6,000 sounds like a great daily driver. What is insurance like?
Timing belt and water pump was done at 90k. Used ameliorate for oil changes. Still has the original clutch. should I be concerned about the clutch and long do they normally last on these cars?

The clutch on my CL-S lasted me 150K before I had to replace it. Just keep an eye on how much it slips and go from there.
Obviously a lot depends on how the car was driven over the years. If 80% of the driving was on the highway at 70MPH then the clutch wasn't used all that often even if it does have a lot of miles.
Update
Well I have a few problems with the car. The radiator issue struck a couple of months ago and had to be replaced. The rear brake caliper froze up and also needed replacement. Other than that, it has been very good and runs excellent.
I washed it and detailed the interior today, which was much needed after all the driving I have been doing. It's currently at 88,500 miles.

One year of ownership as of this month. Not too many issues to report, minus replacing the radiator due to a crack in the endtank.
I just got a job working for Advance Auto Parts part-time after classes so I now have 20% discount on car parts
Currently I need to pick up an O2 sensor (2nd bank) and replace my door lock actuators, which are acting crazy right now, clicking to unlock but then flipping back into the locked position.
ABS light also came on...I'm assuming its the ABS wheel sensor but I haven't really looked at it yet.
This weekend I'm planning on fixing a small amount of surface rust that is starting to show inside the rear of the quarter panel, underneath the fender line piece. It's nothing major at all, just a quick sanding and some prep work+touch up paint should fix it.

I knew I heard the term GS-R!
Congrats on the purchase. There are a few of us on the boards that have a GS-R including myself. If you have any questions be sure to ask.
Things you should probably get checked and/or have done soon depending on how well the previous owner took care of it:

Things you should probably get checked and/or have done soon depending on how well the previous owner took care of it:
- Oil Change
- Brake Flush
- Check the Radiator for leaks, Integra radiators are known to fail as their end caps are made of plastic
- Check your trailing arm bushings, with that many miles, they may be or are already cracking
- Valves adjustment
- Check your Clutch Fluid to see how dirty it is, may need to be flushed
- If the clutch needs to be replaced, be sure to install a Type-R Flywheel in lieu of the GS-R flywheel. They are nearly identical in price and is a straight swap and is lighter than the GS-R Flywheel but you get the OEM reliability.
- If you want to check out the motor, get a compression test and leak down analysis to check the state of the motor
- Have the PCV valve replaced
- The O2 sensors were faulty in earlier model Integra's, I remember one of the sensor's in my 97 failed. After I replaced it I received a Recall notice about it.
Don't know if the same applies to the 2001 model so if you notice pretty poor mileage, have the O2 sensors checked out.

In all seriousness, sorry to hear it happen, sucks when you have to replace parts that IMHO should have been engineered a little better to last. especially when that money could have gone to mods instead.
Make sure to get an OEM o2 Sensor. I can't tell you how many Advanced Auto Parts/Auto Zone o2 Sensors I went through in my Civic, and they all still gave me problems. One day I decided to drop the coin for an OEM one, and it was totally worth it. Problem free.
