New to me 2001 GS-R
Picked this up last Wednesday as a replacement for my aging 1997 2.2 CL. It's a one-owner, bone stock silver/black GS-R with 85,300 on the clock. I flew in Burlington, Vermont to pick it up and drove it back to Ohio completely trouble free. (minus the tailpipe breaking off, NE rust combined with Ohio potholes ) Overall, it's is great shape with no rust on the body and only a moderate amount of surface rust underneath (plan on hitting that with POR-15 or something similar before winter here)
All in all not a bad deal for $6,500, considering how how much some Honda people ask for these cars.
I don't have any decent pics yet, so heres a quicky to give an idea of how it looks:
Interior has been cleaned since this pic
I'll try and get some more soon.

I knew I heard the term GS-R!
Congrats on the purchase. There are a few of us on the boards that have a GS-R including myself. If you have any questions be sure to ask.
Things you should probably get checked and/or have done soon depending on how well the previous owner took care of it:

Things you should probably get checked and/or have done soon depending on how well the previous owner took care of it:
- Oil Change
- Brake Flush
- Check the Radiator for leaks, Integra radiators are known to fail as their end caps are made of plastic
- Check your trailing arm bushings, with that many miles, they may be or are already cracking
- Valves adjustment
- Check your Clutch Fluid to see how dirty it is, may need to be flushed
- If the clutch needs to be replaced, be sure to install a Type-R Flywheel in lieu of the GS-R flywheel. They are nearly identical in price and is a straight swap and is lighter than the GS-R Flywheel but you get the OEM reliability.
- If you want to check out the motor, get a compression test and leak down analysis to check the state of the motor
- Have the PCV valve replaced
- The O2 sensors were faulty in earlier model Integra's, I remember one of the sensor's in my 97 failed. After I replaced it I received a Recall notice about it. Don't know if the same applies to the 2001 model so if you notice pretty poor mileage, have the O2 sensors checked out.

Oh and one more big thing, GS-R's are known for burning a lot of oil especially so if you head into VTEC range (6Krpm+) a lot.
It's not unheard of to burn 1qt or more between oil change intervals of 3,750 mi.
Also, where the downpipe connects to the the b-pipe in the Integra's is known to jingle when you hit bumps and such. Very common issue, so if you hear it, don't worry too much, but have your mechanic ensure that your heat shield surrounding your cat isn't cracked to play it safe since it would sound exactly the same if it were cracked.

I'm going to get more stuff checked over the next month or so, most likely. The guy I got it from said it had 4 new rotors, alternator, motor mount, and tires. (tires are obvious) He said that all records are at the local Acura dealer so I'm going to contract them and see if I can get the records. Right now I'm focused on cleaning it up since it wasn't driven much the past few months and getting tint on the windows.
PS- Thanks for all the info Sly!

Anytime dude. I'm on my 2nd Integra and love this car very much and have quite a bit of experience with them as does dallison.
Good luck and drive safe.
Oh and if you do put an alarm in it, be sure to add in a hidden fuel cut off switch if you can. I still haven't added one to mine yet, but that's only because mine sits in the garage most of the time ever since my wife and I started carpooling to work.

Very nice. It's virtually impossible to find one like this unmolested. I hope this won't be a daily driver, they get stolen and broken into so often.

There is a clean 2000 GS-R sedan for sale here. 120k miles. Asking $7,000.
Thinking about it for something to drive in the winter so the S2000 doesn't need to play in the snow. Plus it's pretty cold driving a convertible in February.

Very nice! I had a 2000 GS-R that I bought brand new off the lot. Drove the wife, two girls, and a cat cross country in it for a move from Connecticut to California. I very reluctantly traded it in for a minivan when number 3 came along. I still miss that car.

I'm thinking about it but I had been leaning towards a Subaru wagon. If I'm going to buy a "practical" car a wagon might be a better option... Still have a few months before the S needs to be put away to think it over.

Not trying to highjack but here is the one I found locally. Doesn't look quite a clean as the OP. Maybe because it's a sedan and the tan interior doesn't seem to hold up as well as the black.

I bought a Prelude SH as well after driving both the type R and the lude. Nice GS-R. Parts are so cheap too to make it fast and handle better.

Nice pickup! And the wear on it seems to be extremely lite.

A few more:
Interior looks a lot better now as well.
The pics kinda suck, all I have is a point/shoot camera. I ordered a POR-15 package deal today, so I can get started on cleaning up the underside of the car and bust the rust on there now. )Not looking forward to the actual work though)
