looks soooo boring yawn...

I don't care for a vehicle that's not available in the brand's mother country or even in that continent, a vehicle that's specifically intended to meet our strange fetish with SUV most of wich never ever go off-road...

looks a little edgier but pretty much the same. plus it's the M class reliability that's been the major concern.

The M-Class is available in Europe, Asia, and other places on the planet. For a list of countries, see http://www.mercedes-benz.com/com/e/h...ass/index.html

Glass color on New MB's

Anyone notice the blue glass color on the new Mercedes Benz's. Will this be the new trend for luxury cars? I really like the way it looks. Just seeing if anyone else has noticed this. Its definately not aftermarket tint.

Mercedes is working on a lot of stuff. I read that they're working on developing paint that'll last longer, and the new S-Class will supposedly have an airbag in the front grille for pedestrians - should an accident happen.

is it just me or do those speedos look kinda tilted from the sides?

Well, the front is a marked improvement, though the side panels and the general silouette looks pretty bland.

Junkster, who thinks it will sell because of the one accesary it comes with... the badge

Keep in mind that this is a computer image, rendered from spy pics of the new M-Class. So I wouldn't be surprised if whoever did it chose the Kia to supplement certain design cues, but I wouldn't be surprised if the real thing doesn't actually resemble this.

The front headlights on that new M-Class kind of look like the one's from the restyled '05 Altima.

The M-class seat controls have always been on the seats themselves. I'm not sure why they did this, either. I like the continuity that Mercedes has always had.

If that is the child of the M and the Sorrento, then the Equinox must be a cousin! Is it me or are all the SUVs of late look the same. The X5 in my opinion is still on top of the list followed by the Cayanne and the Toureg. But then again, I am biased.

I see very few M class around here. Toureg and other lesser SUVs are the most common.

Biggest difference -- and the reason we didn't just wait for another ML -- is that this new one's a unibody, and the 98-04 model had a separate ("truck") frame.

MB has been hinting for years that they'd bring in the A-Class from Europe (which is not to be confused with the "Smart" car, which is also Euro-only). We would have been happy to go for an A-Class. But MB feels that this makes for an "everyman's car" instead of the "luxury" image they want to project in North America. A-Class is _sweet_ -- like a mini-Me version of the ML. I drove a diesel "A" across France a couple years ago. But MB's apparently going to hold off again...
