New Lexus GS430

Hey,

What does everyone think of this car? I personally loved the current gs400, 430's. My dad's lease on his 02 535i sport is ending soon and this is one of the cars we are thinking of. Anyone have any NEW info on how much HP etc...
Any new pics also? Anything guys would help...

Cars being compared.
05 BMW 5 series
05 MB E Class.
Audi A6.

Both the E500 and 545i are really nice but kind of on the high price scale that we are looking at. The Lexus GS430, 535i, E320 all fall in OUR price scale. Right under 50k. With the Lexus we get the performance....

I think its going to be one hot car myself.

sweet interior. pretty nice exterior...waiting to see in person for final judgement.

Lexus performance....and most importantly Lexus service and treatment...which puts everyone else to shame.

My only bitch...not stick shift...but most people buying this car dont want one anyway

If you're definitely shooting for under 50K for a V8...that pretty much rules out the Germans. So you're left with Lexus and Infiniti M45 for V8 power.

There's a caveat, though...you pay for that service. An oil change for a Lexus at a Lexus dealer is around $100, and it gets more expensive for the German marques.

Yeah...and they drive a loaner to your front door, take your car, and bring it back...cant really beat that for convience.

plus its a usually a new model so you get to test their whole line salesman free

I mean it would be nice to have the v8 and 50k is around what we want to be at.

I priced the 545i it was 59k kind of too much, and the e500 was 63k I beleive.

Both with just SPORT pkgs.

545's interior sucks...only saving grace is the amazingness of the bimmer underneath the ugliness and its comes in a stick

not a big benz fan.

audi is unrelaible...but im guessing he would lease again...so thats not bad.

I still lexus would be my pick.

I spent an hour at a dealer with a friend who currently owns a 2003 6spd 540.

the new ones just dont compare from an aesthetic and functional POV.
the new super adjustable comfort seats were a nice touch...but less bolstered on the sides.

My problem with the newer BMW interiors is the use of aluminum. I have a suspicion that they're the plastic aluminum kind, cause they're not cool to the touch and they don't have that sheen that real aluminum gives off. And if that's the case, it's quite disappointing considering the price tag.

I'm just not feeling that front end.

As for the 3G GS, the contours of it remind me of the 6G Maxima. I'm not feeling that too much neither.

All new BMWs have free service for the first 4 yr/50k miles. From oil changes to brakes to wiper blades.

I've seen the new GS at an auto show, it was the 300 so it had less exterior ammeneties, but overall the shape and looks were quite appealing to the eye..........I like them.

Not sure the m or gs will be out till after next fall, so he may not be able to get them if his lease is up by summer. If he can wait I'd test drive the new e350, gs, m, and a6. All look great.

The M45 is nice, but the interior still will not have the refinement of the new GS imho. Lexus is hard to beat in that department.

Lexus has that interior down. Exterior ... meh

Man walked by a sc400 the other day and the interior, even though it is like 10 years old now, is still amazingly well done.

to both statements. The SC300/400 feels like a tailored suit, not a car.

New M will be out in the Spring. Not sure about the new GS though. I'd imagine around the same time.

From what I heard and know the NEW GS430 will be out in March of 05 as a 06 model.

I saw and drove the new 545i SPORT with SMG transmission today. Sweet car and looks awesome with the sport pkg. I like the 6 spd SMG more than I thought. Im feeling this car alot but man the interior is SO PLAIN. Its really pissing me off....Other than that I dont have any other con's on the new 5.
