Looks OK. If it floats your boat, cool

Dont like:
Metallic Tint
plasti dipped emblems...black chrome looks much better.
yellow fog lenses, very 90s

agreed on the black chrome - but its a lease, and id rather go with the more carefree, cheaper approach of plasti-dip.

i spent hours researching tint types, and was dead set on the 3M Black Chrome. it looks like regular tint during darker lighting, but has a nice blue/green reflection of the sky during the day. matches well with the white metallic paint, IMO. the interior is basically white, and i didnt want to go with < 35% tint, so regular "black" tint didnt seem like a good route.

as for the yellows - yes, its a bit 90s, in a throwback JDM type of way...but they are bright as hell and dont look dated. it makes the car stand out.

more times than not, the tint looks like this:

...so it has a bit of a cameleon effect depending on the surroundings

rwd is very rare in this car, all I see is AWD. MT too? Car mags love this car in rwd mt, and I wanted it over the tsx I bought. Could not justify price premium at the time. Options.

nice pick up and looking pretty good, your car is the complete opposite of mine. i'm black on black with 6K HID Lows and fogs. If you ever in RI this is what my Lexus looks like in the summer time, right now i run the stock 17's with all seasons. i will have owned her for 4 years in march, got some F-sport goodies in it. currently it has 84K and no issues. turning to the dark side and i think i'm going to pick up a 335i M-sport as my second play car...i can at least spreed the mileage a little and off the lexus since it commutes 100 miles a day.

i hate pollen you can see it all over the car in this pick....

rwd is rare in new england. i purposely went shopping for awd cars (g37, c300, is) in hopes of getting a great deal on a rwd variant that was leftover to bring down to florida. sure enough, i found this rwd car by chance, that was sitting on the lot for almost 4 months. it was the only car that was priced in the same ballpark as a tsx. my is250 rwd had a 35k sticker and leased out at 360/mo w taxes and down pmt rolled in. the tsx 6 spd at 29k was 330/mo same terms. 328i, g37, and c300 were all pushing 500/mo (same terms). so the IS was an absolute no-brainer. now that i have the car in FL, all i see is RWD ISs. which pisses me off, because they all have the same wheel option in liquid graphite, which had made me feel special when i had the car up in NY. anway, thats the story.

...and yes, they make it in manual, but its nearly IMPOSSIBLE to come by unless you special order. same with the c300. also, the IS manual tranny is a POS that was taken from some toyota pickup truck.

probably not. most mods i got are reversible due to the lease...and were relatively cheap and wont outlive the 36 month term (i.e. bulbs). id dying to lower the car and paint the grille surround white, but they both seem like a poor investment.

Nice job! Looking good.

The only thing is that I would go with the LED bulbs for the DRL. It looks sweet on IS250.

Yes, do not go too much on the modding when you have a lease car.

went with luminics yellows for DRLs. plus it looks great even when the car is off (see pic below). also, the drls double as the high beams, so you sacrifice the high beams with LED DRLs...something i dont want to do, since i dont have real xenon low beams, just PIAA halogen upgrades. as a matter of fact, i basically replaced every bulb up front and had to take apart half of the engine bay to do so. doing mods arent nearly as easy as they used to be.

oh, and im done with modding. just wanted to get everything over with as soon as possible for maximum enjoyment for the time i am "borrowing" the car

Looks nice. And white is OK in FLA. A lot of sun fades out the darker colors, and it will be easier to take care of.

this is one thing I hate about the leasing a car... you can't really do much to the car. you own the car, but it's not really yours.

pretty clean ride.

tell me about it. im dying to do so many more things to it.

modding a car, even if you own it, is still a pain in the ass. selling off the parts in the end is a huge hassle, and really makes you think if it was worth spending the money in the first place. plus, you need to worry about lack of insurance on said parts, and voiding the warranty. guess the best route when buying a car is to focus on factory options/parts. might as well have the upgrades contribute to the sticker value to help resale. which is why acura (and now lexus) are great, as they offer many aero and performance parts.

This is true...but only because the biggest mod I am doing right now, I dont have the technical know how/tools to perform so I am having my shop do it for me...and since he is doing that one, I'm just going to have him do most everything I got as well since It's all around the same area. I just did my shifter which was fun...and I really wanted to as much of the others on my own as well...but I have a good reason for just getting it all done at once...my wallet on the other hand, hates me for it.

the 2011s are facelifted, as you probably know. most importantly, they offer an F-Sport and lighting appearance package that makes the car look 2x better for a minimal $$. i would recommend getting that package before considering AWD.

also, expect 2011s to lease out at almost 50% more than some 2010s.

Yeah, I definitely like the look of the RWD platform better. But this car isn't going to be solely for me. I feel like AWD will be safer for my girlfriend to drive. I plan to get the optioned wheels, although I know they won't be staggard, sadly. :-( Unfortunately, safety > looks. I'm going to try to add all the F-sport options that I can to the AWD platform. We'll see how that goes!

I'm sure that's regional. Down here I'd say 80% of them are RWD...

^ Yeah I didn't even know the car had an AWD platform until I moved from Atlanta to Baltimore. Up here you would think the exact opposite.

VERY regional. after a thorough search, i only found a handful of ISs and G37s w/ RWD within a 50 mile radius of NYC. now in miami, i dont think ive seen one AWD version of either. not surprising, i guess.

im very happy that i decided to get an unwanted RWD IS in NY. Driving it to FL was well worth the savings. plus, not only is a RWD IS rare in new england, but the white on white combo is SUPER rare.
