Still don't care for that shifter setup, but drove a coworker's Tahoe Premier & really liked how it drove. I'm sure the Denali is a step up from there.

TRUST ME FRIEND, nobody on this planet misses the column shifter more than I do. I'm dead dead serious, I've had a Yukon before and GM is really really good with column shifters. NOTHING like slamming the hell out of them into park, I miss it. Owners are pissed too, Cadillac owners LOVED the column shifter especially in the 'Slade but GM still got rid of them.

That said, the buttons are extremely high quality so it helps... And the chrome and wood around it are very high quality. I own an LX570, the GM shifter buttons would pass muster in that absolutely, a flagship Lexus truck.

It is a demo so I won't have it yet as they're doing a few things. I am shocked by how quick it is, I knew it would be for sure but my god. Absolutely positively HAD to be the 6.2, would cut an arm off before settling for less. I'm the biggest V8 fan out there, thank god I have a bunch of good ones now including this. What happened with the sound though, I'm NOT complaining but the engine is too muffled compared to previous gens. Not a big deal at all and that sound and power are there, but it is much quieter than I thought.

Yeah, I had console shift in my F150, Flex, and Malibu.
Explorer & Expedition are rotary knob. Took some getting used to, but don't mind it anymore. I prefer it to the Dodge style in my boss' Ram, where it's on the dash.

I've heard with the rotary that at first owners confuse them with volume dials, at least one person I know had a Ram and was telling me about it.

I have a console shifter in my LX570 that feels like you could bounce an asteroid off of it (well, everything in that truck for that matter), so I'm good.

Again though, verrrrrry pleasant surprise how high quality those shift buttons are.

Very nice....... But the tires. So little sidewall for a large SUV. Do you feel this? Is the ride quality a touch harsh? Curious.

Rides just as well as my LX570 on 20"s with decently fat sidewall tires, which is to say excellent. They both glide right down the highway like luxury sedans. GM has excellent dampers that Ferrari among others used.

The huge rims will remind you more that it's a truck (at least compared to LX570) when you take small parking lot bumps, etc. It's just a trade off, get the smaller rims and that would be minimized. But look at those rims on this thing... haha. Nice GM gives consumers a choice.

I honestly haven't had nearly as much time with it yet as they are fixing a few things up, it's a demo and I wanted new mats, huge detail, and a few other things. I don't even have the truck right now lol.
