New Car Sugestions
Looking to get a new car in august or september. Looking to spend between 0-37k new. If you have any sugestions let me know, must have 4 seats and auto trans. AWD and FWD prefferable but ok with RWD. No Acuras/Hondas and no 3 series.
I am thinking about:
Audi TT, A4
Bmw 135
Camaro ss

If you need 4 seats then TT is out. The backseats in that car is for looks, or children under the age of 5. Why no 3 series but yes to the 1? The 3 series is only slightly more expensive and it is bigger and better looking. 1 series is ugly as sin.

Someday, an RS6 Avant+
Subaru Legacy GT? the 2010 model starts at $27,900 and has a lot of features, can be had with an AT, is AWD (symmetrical, so all wheels all the time, no bias), seats 5 (4 comfortably), fairly inexpensive to maintain, and looks good.... Oh, the GT can be modified for even more performance, and it starts with 265 ponies...

A3 or A4. Maybe a G37.
Are you leasing?
Is the 2010 Legacy the new one? If so, I think it's , IMO of course. The current one looks so much better. I don't like the 1 series either. Just looks really odd to me.

of the cars listed, i'd go with the A4, but i dunno what options/packages you can get for $37k.
that said, for $37k, i'd personally get a G37.

I thought i was the only one who noticed that.
I'd go with either the G37 or 135i. But leaning more towards the G37. Then again im not a fan of either of them in the looks department.
I have been seeing a lot of the new A4s on the roads..

Yeah, for $37k I'm not sure you can get too many options on the A4. That's why I suggested the A3. I think the hatch looks cool.
If $37k gets you basically a bare-boned A4, then I'd go G37.

I was doing comparisons after I posted and I have to say I like this option. This or the G37x, but I think the A4 actually may have a slight feature edge for the price. The G37 does have over three hundred horses hiding under its hood, though...
You could save money (or get more options) if you don't care about AWD.
You could save even more/get even more if you went CPO... Someone had to say it!

Those are the models that I like and that I would drive. I like the A4 but I am worried that it is too much like my tsx. My parents want me to get a new car so I am only paying for part of it. I have time I am in no rush, but as soon as finals are over I am going to start test driving.

I guess I could be called a I'll stop with the pointing shit....
If the OP has the money, I'd say the A4 or a G37x would work. Save a lot more and get an 09 Leg GT. Yes, the 2010 is a bit subjective, but I have yet to see it in person.
Now if buying a house/condo is in your future, then definitely get a CPO, 2 - 3 years old and save some huge $$$$.

Theres no point on buying a house when I can live at home for free.
Does the g37 have the same terrible interior of the g35? In the g35 the interior was comparable to most American car interiors.

the new G interiors are miles better than the 1st gen.
many here will say it still looks cheap because of the plastic, but in terms of looks and design, i think it looks great.

It's not like someone says they're looking at an Accord and a Maxima and a Legacy and then he jumps in there and pimps his car for eight paragraphs.

I know you're going to think I'm crazy because of the size of the thing but for $37k, the Genesis 3.8 is a great car to consider. Especially if you need back seats.
The 4.6 just got a glowing review in Road & Track and the 3.8 is more than adequately powered.
Plus, you might be able to get a 3.8 loaded with Navigation and the 17-speaker 7.1 stereo system for $38k. It MSRPs at $40k. If not, the next package down is $35k and that comes with a 14-speaker system but no HIDs.
I'd at least go drive it
Of the others on the list, I think the A4 2.0T is a fantastic car but very expensive new.
Honestly, I wouldn't buy anything new. I'd get something a year or two old in the best condition you can find and save yourself a lot of money.

Thanks. You know, besides MattG and Jedi, I don't think anyone else has one. I'm just telling people about the virtues of a great car that is not on the radar of most shoppers, unless you're a lesbian.
I will say, that if carrying anything more than small people in the back seat for a long period of time is a criteria, then a Legacy IS NOT for you. It has enough room for 2 adults for short trips, but not anything longer.
The ES is a roomy car, and even the G35/37 has more room inside. I just don't like the G35 much. The G37 is really nice, the two door being :hot:
I do like the 4G TL, but the TSX is more in this league.
Give a preference without regard to money:
A4 / G37 / C Class MB / 3 Series BMW / CTS / Legacy GT
Money as an issue:
Legacy GT / CPO A4 or A6

I quote Edmunds: "You wanna kick ass, or fondle the door panels, sissy?"
As funny as it sounds, you should base your purchase somewhat on that. I wanna kick ass, so Camaro SS it is. It'll also be cheaper to get pretty much the same features as the other cars, since it has a ton of options.

1-2 year-old GS350 would be nice, glacier frost mica with black interior=tits
A4s are all over the place, nice car but I would say the GS is less common.
CPO'd M3 also an option but I doubt you would find a low mileage one in your price range. I would avoid a used S4 like the plague

Of course. I mean really, why cut the cord and get out on your own to start building some assets and wealth of your own instead of spending your money on a depreciating asset? The thought process of some people, especially the younger ones, is just amazing. For your 22nd birthday I'll send you some scissors so you can cut the cord.
Although I can't say all younger people. Darrinb has a good head on his shoulders. I also had a manager at one of my stores who is 21, had a kid, her own house, and a brand new car. She sacrificed a bit in her teens but bought the place at 20 years old. Nice place too, in a community, only about 4-5 years old, so still a fairly new house. She's definitely a hard worker.
Anyway, for the car, since you're apparently going to stay on your parent's teet, I'd go with the G37...

Being in school isn't an excuse for being a fucking retard. I already have several thousand $ saved away to go towards a down payment on a house, am putting a huge chunk of my income towards it currently, and I'm the same age as this guy. And no, my parents aren't pushing me to move out, and I have a very good relationship with them. I'm just, you know, growing up. Thinking about the future.
EDIT: p.s. I make less in a year than this punk is planning on spending on a car. I think he could manage to scrape up some savings.

Definitely possible...but then why didn't he reply saying I'm still in school and living at home instead of, "why buy a house when I can live at home for free"?
Either way, dropping $40k on a car at 21 y/o when living home is one thing. Replying to a suggestion saying you may want to consider moving out by saying that you're doing it b/c you can just live at home for free on your parents dime is another.
