New car to compliment CL
New car to compliment CL
Well I have been seriously thinking about getting another car to replace my daily driver ('90 Accord - 220,000 miles). Just out of curiosity I wanted to throw up a poll to see what you all think. These are the cars I'm considering. I'm keeping the CL for trips and times I feel like taking the 'nice' car, but the Accord is just getting old and well I feel like driving something newer everyday.

TSX, you already have a 2 door "sporty" coupe, so forget the RSX, and the Accord Hybrid just seems too "big" and not a fun car to drive. However the TSX from what i hear is a pretty good handler, and its pretty luxurious to.

has a point. If it is a daily driver, why not get the most fuel efficient yet still somewhat quick AV6 Hybrid.Having a turbo CL-S6 and then a Hybrid AV6 makes for interesting garage conversation. Not to mention the gas money saved to go into racing fuel for the CL-S6 turbo.
yeah, i agree, the CL, which you're keeping is already a sporty car, wouldn't you want to get something different? like a four door sedan to haul peeps around in?
I agree with the florida guy as well, go for hybrid av6
FYI: I voted for RSX when i should have voted for ACcord

NA + 4cyl + AT = mediocre acceleration. IMHO, it's TSX 6MT or dont bother with it at all.
Hey Blue, any preference in trannys?? Your choices seem to run the gamut: AV6H=5AT only, RSX-S=6MT only and TSX=both.

Accord Hybrid - would love to have one but it will be $32,ooo (nav). Not my favorite as far as looks go.
RSX-S - SWEET. I really want a 4-door auto (commuting) but at least the RSX has a hatch... I can still put my mountain bike in there. I can't stand buying a car that isn't top of the line so it must be a type-S, 6 speed and all. I also wouldn't have to make my own turbo kit for this one, there are already some on the market

TSX - is on the top of my list. Perfect little sports sedan, auto will be nice for all the driving around L.A. I do. If this car would have come out 6 months sooner I'd be driving one today (instead of the CL). TSX 6-Speed that is; it is what I really wanted back then (4-door 6-speed).
This is a 6-12 month timeframe so maybe Acura will unveil a TSX Type-S by then

you've already got your "fun" car, and with rising fuel prices, the Accord H sounds pretty tempting. If you want a little more kick, TSX has pretty good fuel econ.
This is interesting... I figured the TSX would win hands down. The problem is the Accord will be brand new ($3o,ooo + waiting list) while the TSX I could find used for the low $20k's. However the Accord is rated 29/37mpg and the TSX 21/30mpg. Also the Accord only requires regular fuel. Who knows, it will probably take me too long to decide so I'll just keep driving the Accord until the wheels fall off. Or maybe I should pull the CL out of the garage

, and if you want, the 05 has the pwr passenger seat, illuminated steering wheel controls, XM, and heated mirrors. Personally, I like the idea of breaking in my own engine, but that's just how I was raised.
If you're going after the Accord Hybrid might as well have new TSX as a choice as it'll be cheaper.
It seemed you didn't mind driving the 4 cyl. The Accord might have a more boat like suspension and even though it's a pretty nice powered V6 you might think it's a dog as youre used to the CL-S-T. The TSX or RSX should be a good choice as the handling will be superior, gas mileage is still great, and although the power isn't all there it's still fun to unwind a high RPM I4 like the K series. Plus the Accord uses the same transmission that was part of the recall which is also the same transmission as the ones we're used to bitching about. I wouldn't buy another Honda auto V6 ever again.
