New car advice

My g/f has a 2002 CR-V EX 4wd with 148k miles on it. It is a good car with no real issues. However, she wouldn't mind getting something new with heated seats, navi, and a backup camera. I did some research and found a 2011 CR-V EX-L fully loaded with 15k miles for $25,750. Does this sound like a decent deal? The other car she is looking at is a 2012 Hyundai Tucson Limited, but they are going for around 29k, which is too much for her. The last option for her is to just keep her car for awhile.

You could also look at a Subaru Forrester. The AWD is better. Or a Toyota RAV-4, but the price may be a bit high.

But as far as the CR-V being a good deal, take a look at http://www.edmunds.com and price it yourself.

The new cr-v's are too much for her. That is why she is looking to buy pre-owned. Also, she doesn't care for the look of the rav4.

Does she need a SUV? If you want some decent advice on getting a car, you have to give us some more detail..

Yes new CR-V just came out, my mom bought her 2008 Cr-V back in 08 with navi think it was the Ex-L. I think she paid 25k for it brand new.

She hates it now though

She takes the train to work, so having a fuel efficient car is not a top priority, but that doesn't mean she wants a gas hog. We like to travel when we can and take camping trips, so the storage area will be nice. Also, living in MD, we get snow from time to time. Finally, because she has had the cr-v for 5 or so years, she enjoys sitting up a little higher than in a car.

I just think it's because she is used to getting a new car every 2-3 years.

But she has had some problems with it,

Something about the tranny (that was covered)

Her driver door actuator crapped out

Her back driver door actuator crapped out

The driver door would unlock automatically while driving. When the car goes IIRC 10mph+ it locks automatically, well her's once she passed 25 it would unlock.

How about a Subaru Forester? It's a tank. Should be good for traveling through snow and bad weather. Has pretty good cargo volume to carry around loads of crap.

My sister picked up a 2011 Forester about 6 months ago and she loves it. It comes with heated seats in non-leather models as well and the sunroof is awesome! She needed something good on gas but good in Colorado.

A friend has one of these. New with navi and awd is out of her price range and used are hard to come by. The ride in these is pretty harsh over bumps.
