New car? Acura Legend?

First, im posting here because I just recently sold my 2004 TL 6MT after 2 years. I am in school and decided to cut my losses and get a different car that is more affordable during school. I was looking at a 1996 Acura Legend with 150,000 miles.. Anyone have any input on this car? I know its not going to be quick but does anyone have one or have had any experience with it?

Sorry if posted in wrong location.

I love Legends, but you may be getting into a lot of maintenance issues with a car that old and that many miles. Don't know if I'd recommend that for a college kid with no money.

I would recommend something newer, yet still affordable:

Accord
Mazda3
Civic
Subaru Legacy

Something along those lines. What is your budget?

They're solid cars. I wouldn't worry about it as long as it's up to date on maintenance.

Ask anything you want. I know the Legends top to bottom.

Wait - a 96 acura 3.5RL or a 95 Legend? 96 was the first year of the RL.

My cousin had a Legend and that thing was awesome. I wish I would have taken it off his hands before he traded it in for a Ford Explorer.

I still think my 93 legend was the best car i ever owned, really makes you realize that acura doesn't make cars like they used to.

Put the Corolla and 4 cylinder Camry into the mix too.

If your looking at early 90's cars, I'll put my 2 cents in. 93-94 Nissan Maxima SE 5 speed. I had 2 and are a ton of fun to drive. Very reliable to boot.

Too bad you lost out despite the potential issues with owning a car with that many miles.

On another topic...where is the Acura that made the Legend? *snif* I miss it.

good luck, and yeah make sure the head gasket is checked. If you search on Legend forums there's a checklist to see if the car has BHG-related issues or not. They are great cars though, damn near got one for my first car but couldn't afford it

Had 2 friends that owned Legends with miles well into the 250K range and no problems at all. As long as regular maintenance has been done, the car should be good
