New car
New car
Just wondering everyone's opinion here.
If you were able to buy a new car for 20-25k what would you buy?
Me, i would buy a GTI, and im actually looking into that as my next car way in the future if its still as good as it is now.

Supra TT... Early-Mid 90's NSX... Eclipse GSX with 10k Added to the motor... RX-7 with 5k in motor...
although these are not "new" cars.. i'd prefer these any day of the week.. and for 25k.. all of these are attainable...
guess i'll never really be into the whole.. spend 25-40k on brand new models and pay off for 10+ years... besides.. i think cars are losing their magic of individuality..
cars < year 2000 ftw?

Honda Accord coupe? Not sure what they go for nowadays but if that was your budget...Accord would be the choice.
Shop around the cars for sale section of this site. There are members selling some some cars at awesome deals. A lot of members will offer up their cars to AZ before it hits the public market and for less money.
Also hopefully being members of an auto enthusiast website you may assume they've been well taken care off (though they may have been run a little harder) which is no big deal if they're well maintained.

i guess everyone missed that part.i'd be going back and forth between the GTI and new mazda3 hatch. i dunno. i play what if between those two almost everyday (even though i'm not in the market to buy), and i can't decide.
Since you're still relatively young; I assume you'll want something that is reliable, won't cost you too much with your insurance, you should get a car that still has some sort of warranty.
My choices would be:
a- Golf R32 2 or 4 doors.
b- Acura TL-S 6MT
c- 08 B7 A4?
Honorable mention : upcoming MS3 hatch.
I would also recommend the E46 M3 and E39 M5 as these beats have came down in pricing and offer a LOT of performance for the value nowadays; however ownership of these cars out of warranty aren't for everyone as they demand extra attention.

For me it would have to be the GTI, i like that car so much and ive alrdy learned a lot from them on other gti forums. Great daily driver, respectable performance, although not the best, best overall car i would think. Also very easy to mod
I used edmunds to come up with a list of cars to choose from. Pricing is what they reported them to be listed at the link:
http://www.edmunds.com/finder/result...2Bprice:25,000
2010 Chevy Camaro
2009 Dodge Challenger
2009 Dodge Charger (yes I like the looks of the charger)
2009 Civic SI Sedan/Coupe
2009 MazdaSpeed3
2009 Subaru Impreza
2009 Subaru Legacy
2009 VW GTI
The GTI wasn't listed in the $15K-$25K category even though VW reports it's base MSRP is just under $24K.

You should also definitely consider the Genesis coupe, I saw a white 2.0T and it looked absolutely terrific going down the road.
Why wouldn't you get the R32 that has more power and an AWD system? I'm not too familiar with MKV, maybe the GTi offers more possibility to mod it easily.

I saw that but didn't see anywhere he specified the car needed to be absolutely spanking new. I don't think it would hurt to drive an 08 or 09 with little mileage. If I'm mistaken and the OP wants to take off the plastic off, my apologies.:p
I just feel like twisting your arm today.I agree with you though, I was going to even recommend buying a certified pre-owned car in some cases. That way you can get something nicer, and in some cases, a better warranty than what comes on new cars.
Sure why not, bend the rules and throw some certified preowned cars at me.
I wouldn't buy new.
If you can get over the whole "new car" thing you can get a much better two-year old car for $25k than you can new at that price.
OR, wait a year and you can get a 370Z with about 10k miles for $25k.
