New Accord V6
So I know a lot of you guys are into Honda/Acura bashing but today I had some free time and test drove an Accord V6. Well two. One auto and one 6mt. That thing is a beast. I chirped 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, double clutched it, and power shifted. Ahh. I almost creamed right then and there. Anybody else got respect for the new Accord (MT, auto was even slower than my CL-P)? I was pleasantly surprised...

Never driven one but I like it a lot. Looks really aggressive. Nice interior too, excessive amount of buttons or not.
Chirping for a FWD car isn't all that impressive. I used to chirp 1st 2nd and 3rd in my Integra LS... regularly

Since I own a CLS 6spd, I have alot of "respect" for the AV6 6mt... it's what the CLS would be like had acura decided to keep it around...
If I was looking for a new FWD coupe, the AV6 6mt would be on the top of my list...

While I have not test driven one, I parked my 07 EX-L V6 next to an 08 version of the same and realized that Honda pretty much improved on the 07 in almost every way with the 08 model. I think my daughter was right: I should have waited to get the 08 model.
But, if I had to make sub-$32k sedan purchase right now then, the Pontiac G8 GT would top my list. (Sidenote: I cannot believe a Pontiac is even on my list let alone topping it.)

I'm a big fan of the 8G Accord. I love the look of both the sedan and the coupe. The only problem I have is that I'd LOVE for there to be a 6MT manual in the sedan.
If I were looking for a plain old daily driver now, then I'd strongly consider the 8G AV6 sedan.
As far as the Honda/Acura bashing comment, it's mostly Acura we're bashing, and we are bashing them in love as we simply want them to do better. As much as I talk about GM (and I should--they are rocking right now), my garage is an all-Honda/Acura garage except for the lawnmower, so you see where my heart is. But that's another thread.

I love my 7th Gen AV6 6MT , so I can only imagine the 8th Gen would be as good if not better, despite what others have said. But yeah, chirping through 3rd isn't a true gauge of how fast a car is, but it is indeed lots of fun!

I love chirping into gears as well. The stupid thing about the Accord is all the damn buttons. The car doesn't even have a freakin repeat button (Navi equipped). I have to school through audio menus to enable it. Here's mine:

Yeah but will probably wait till Spring of 09. It's not supposed to come out till Fall this year and I'm sure dealers will be price gouging like they are doing on the GTs

Why do the housing for the foglights have to be in that plastic housing? I could've sworn the Accord has a spot for the foglights without needing that.

^ They were like that on the 7th Gens too, just way way smaller.

Sorry for the Hi-Jack, but i figured yall wanted some good pics of the accord to look at.
I do admit that the buttons are a little much, but after a while you get used to it and the layout is really nice and user friendly.

If you had $30G lying around I would recommend buying a call option on oil futures.

The new accord is a great car and last month it even outsold the camry. As far as honda bashing I dont think there is much of that its more of Acura. Its kind of hard to bash Honda they are doing a very good job, and there sales reflect that.

The Honda bashing is more to do with Corporate Honda's management of the Acura line.

Nice. question still remains, "why would anyone pick TSX over AV6?"
So, what is the market price now for a fully loaded accord V6?

I like those AV6 coupe pix. I believe Honda has a continued winner on its hands.
