Need opinions on 2nd car..

Want to pick up a second car/beater...looking to spend 8-10K..suggestions for a decent reliable car...

Thanks
(I decided to sell my bike so I can have a car to drive around in the winter instead of driving my TL...next year I am gonna pick up an 05 R6...its redesigned, and SWEET!)

Corolla, civic, Scion (I know its a little out of your price range but a lot of bang for the buck)

Try and stay away from the 99's. 00's and 01's are awesome though-and cheap.

the 99's will have seen the SOHC block phase II replace the DOHC phase I which had the headgasket issues. but, yeah, if you can find an 01 you could have 4 doors instead of 2.

I just picked up a 97 Yukon as a beater for 7k. Excellent shape. Not the best on gas, but I am no longer limited by curbs and sidewalks

It is a trip driving the Yuk all week and then jumping in the cl on the weekends. Feels like I am sitting on the ground.

I used to drive around a 1988 lincoln towncar during the week...and an integra on weekends.

My integra felt like a goddamn indy car after the lincoln land yacht.

I love the shape of that generation Integras...the coupes of course. And they're really nice cars, economical, quick, and comfortable.

BTW, how reliable are Toyota 4Runners...around model year 1995? I've always wanted one of those and think it would make a great beater / tow vehicle. I'd just throw the biggest tires I could fit on it so that I could also take it off-roading a bit.

I say get a old 1st gen GS, then you can swap out the 2nd gen GS front on your TL to the 1st gen GS.
