I bought a 91 Integra w/120k miles, cheap, economical, fuel efficent for 2k!! Great buy used it for so many trip to NYC, etc.....
but I wouldnt spend 8-10k for a beater, you can get some nice beaters for less, look at www.craigslist.com thats were I found mine!

It is a trip driving the Yuk all week and then jumping in the cl on the weekends. Feels like I am sitting on the ground.

I used to drive around a 1988 lincoln towncar during the week...and an integra on weekends.
My integra felt like a goddamn indy car after the lincoln land yacht.

BTW, how reliable are Toyota 4Runners...around model year 1995? I've always wanted one of those and think it would make a great beater / tow vehicle. I'd just throw the biggest tires I could fit on it so that I could also take it off-roading a bit.

91 integras have bad water seals. the seals rot over time and the car starts leaking everywhere. trust me i had one...nightmare...had other problems too with only 95k on the odo.
