Need a new car! Help!

Alright, so my friend is looking for a new car and he has about 20K to spend for it. He's looking for something fast that get's really good mileage. What he's looking at right now is an SRT4, and a Subaru WRX. Is there anything he could add to the list?

Those are nice cars but they don't really peak his interest. Does anyone know what the pros and cons are of an SRT4?

Yeah for 20k a used WRX with low mileage would be ideal.

A used car for 20k would be better than the new car for 20k if he really doesn't want to keep the car a long time. Resale on the SRT4 would be a killer if he didn't put 10k down.

Mini cooperS with the upgraded supercharger....

Good, affordable new cars are hard to find...sometimes you have to bite the bullet and get soemthing older that is more like what you want or get something newer that is kinda like you want...If I had 20K I might buy one of the Scion products just because they are a toyota product so they should hold up and by the time you want something new, you will not be messed up about the fact that you spent the 20K anyhoo...have him to chk out the little 4 seater coupe that is coming out in June....and most importantly...PRAY about the decision....

Yea he should definately try and find a used car that took the big hit on depreciation already that is in mint condition. That way he will end up with a much nicer car. All i think of when i hear srt-4 is boy ricer.

As for those suggesting used WRX's or SRT-4S, anyone who buys a used car with a turbo on it is asking for trouble... Those things will have been beaten to death.

A used S2k is better built and will probably be more reliable than a new WRX or SRT-4. It will have better resale value too. Be careful about buying a used car with a turbo. If it hasn't been rigorously maintained (preferably with synthetic oil changes) it could spell a lot of trouble.

That's not true, I don't beat on my STi at all.....anyone who ends up buying it is going to get a very well taken care of car.

Is this b/c of the crash safety issues or what?

Not sure about that, but insurance companies aren't stupid...they know that the srt-4 is affordable, with lots of HP...

Check out ww.srtforums.com and read about all the complaints...
