Need Advice on this Tribeca
My wife is looking at this 2006 Subaru Tribeca. It appears to be in good shape. Interior looks well taken care of, and there are no exterior blemishes. My concerns are the carfax lists it as a corporate lease in 06 and sold at auction to the dealer last month as fleet vehicle. It has 43,800 miles and is listed at $17,995. I think he mentioned a 50,000 warranty. (wish it was 100,000)
Help me out here. Advice? Its been a while since I've shopped for a new car or dealt with a dealer.

I have not heard bad about the Tribeca and it is a Subaru, which means it is a good car/good reliability. Google 'Subaru Tribeca review' and read. Also, I would find all the Subaru dealers in your area and look at their inventory. You should find some similar Tribecas for sale.
I just did a bunch of research but was looking for a Forester. Found a Dealer here that was a No Dicker dealer and got a great deal for my girlfriend. Point is, I researched 2 other Subaru dealers in the area and they could not compare.
Research, research, research. It is good that you pulled the history of the vehicle. I do not like vehicles that are brought in from another State to be sold as sometimes, that is a sign that they are white washing something on the vehicle. If the lease was local, it should be fine.
If you have any uneasy feeling or doubt, don't do it. There are always other vehicles.
A new Forester was stickered at $20k and a new Imprezza hatch was $18k.

Thanks Eggplant. It hasn't changed states.
This may be a dumb question, but why would a Subaru dealer auction off one of their own? It seems weird to me that 1 subaru dealer buys a tribeca at auction from another subaru dealer 20 miles away.

Someday, an RS6 Avant+
Better to get a CPO that was NOT a fleet car. I say look around for a better deal.

Drove it yesterday, wasn't impressed. Another dealer about 20 miles away has one with 10k less miles and listed a $1200 cheaper. 1 owner too.
Thanks for the replies.

We have an 09 CPO Tribeca, got it about 3 months ago. It was a corporate vehicle, fully loaded. Had a sticker of $41,500 on it. They had it on the lot for $35k with 6000 mi. We paid $30k for it, very happy with it. The 3.6l has a lot of grunt, and the interior is very comfortable. Its got the 3rd row seats and a 100k mi warranty. I'd keep shopping, you can deal on them.

Isn't a Fleet car just a car leased to a company or can it be a leased to a Rental Company? If in doubt, ask the Dealership to tell you. I do not like cars that have been driven by a ton of people, like those Rental Company sales lots. They may look clean and be serviced, but people who rent can beat up on a car big time.
Keep us informed.

there are far better vehicles in that price range that would probably satisfy your needs.

Cuz its my wifes car. And with it being a corporate lease, I figured it probably would drive a lil different than the 1 owner one at the other dealer. Plus, it seemed to have a weak tranny and didn't notice any increase in torque on hills. Not sure if thats all of em or this particular one.

The worst thing about the Tribeca is the name. Worst. Marketing. Evar.
Subaru Tribeca B9 - they couldn't decide if they wanted to use a word, a letter or a number. There's no A9, and there's no B8. WTF were they thinking.
