Need advice on a new daily driver

I currently have an 07 TL Type S. Here are my list of requirements for the DD:

1. I need to feel it in my gut when I accelerate. Although the TL isn't a total slouch, I don't "feel" it when I accelerate (well - I do in my neck - I prefer to feel it in the gut). I take it this is because that car is front wheel drive?

2. I can't deal with torque steer anymore so I guess I would need RWD either way.

3. Stock navigation, stock decent sound system

4. I want the car to handle really well at high speeds (100 mph or so)... and take the twisties properly. I need it to feel planted and in control.

5. It needs to be somewhat practical. I am 30; I don't want a boy racer.

6. Car HAS to be A/T trans.

7. Should have at least a little bit of presence on the road.

I think that's my list. I'd like to be able to trade in the Type-S and spend little to no extra money out of pocket as it's fully paid off. (27K miles - immaculate condition)

Cars I've been considering are a used FX, or maybe a used CTS? But I don't know much about how those cars apply to my list, so please feel free to add input.

Open to all suggestions. Thanks!<!-- google_ad_section_end -->

If you want to "feel" the acceleration then get a car with good amount of low end torque. Say a 335i would be a nice match for what you are looking for. Or an Audi A4. 2.0t.

Or a used G35 might be a better option and better chance of being in your price range.

I would say 335i maybe the AWD one so you feel super planted in the corners and then you launch it, it does nothing but stick and give you that gut feeling you're craving.

I don't know anything about BMW reliability/cost of maintenance past 50K miles. I also saw this:

I like the color here:

But I like the warranty/mileage better here:

One thing I don't want to do is to excessively maintain the appearance of the car. Right now, my TL-S is WDP, and it stresses me out everytime I have to leave it parked somewhere because I am worried about dents/dings/scratches etc. The paint on it is flawless and it is expensive keeping it looking so good.

It's hard to keep a car clean in BK/Manhattan/Queens

Mustang GT, Infiniti G37, Charger/300C...

The CTS better be a CTS-V if you want to feel more torque than the TL-S.

FX35 is not going to be quick...the 45 has nice pickup though.

I'd look at some G's.

A pre-owned G37 or a 335i.

2008 Subaru Legacy GT specB.... Simple mods make it 300HP plus, and you will have a lot of fun with it.

Get the new Audi S4 or Audi A6 with the 3.0T motor (even though its supercharged).

Those are great cars, I don't know your budget though.

If you are looking for a lower price point the 335i fits the bill nicely, or even the G37.
