The car is like 2200 lbs! You won't even need the Brembos even for abusive driving. But yeah, check it out when it's at the dealers. I'm gonna do it too for fun!

Probably, though I doubt it's common. Not much different than offering a Mustang/Camaro as a rental IMO. Huge rental place at IAH airport had a couple FR-S last time I grabbed a car there. Hertz I believe.
Odds are it'll be a 6AT though.

It's finally at the dealerships.

Called and asked for a test drive, I guess it's all sold out already. No test drive.

I should see if there are any around here...

Edit, there are two not far from work. Might try and stop in to check it out.

To each his own

It may be down on power, but there's no getting around that 600 pound weight difference between the two.

I would be all for driving one of these to feel the difference between that and my AP2

Didn't realize the first batch of the new Miatas at the dealers are all RED. haha The launch edition of something. I don't know. I'll see if there's any dealer that would let me test drive it. haha

Have you driven any of the Miatas before?

I wasn't a fan of it until I got to actually drive one. It was glorious to drive.

The beauty of miatas is the aftermarket support is damn near ginormous. If you can think of it, someone likely makes it.

it won't be long before parts are coming out for the ND. For the NC model, you can have a brand new 2.5L crate engine dropped in from Mazda by a shop (I don't remember if it was Flyin' Miata or Dynotronics) for $3,000!! It bumps the torque up nicely from the stock 2.0L in the NC.

There are a plethora of turbo and SC kits also. My SC'd NC hauls some serious ass. I absolutely love driving it. I was never a fan of miatas and I really wanted an s2000, but due to my height I couldn't fit in an s2. The NC weighs 300 pounds less, is smaller, and yet I fit comfortably in it without issue.

You can also transfer that SC to the 2.5L. Straight swap. That's my next step. The shop that installs the engine swap claims "it'll run with corvettes" . I'm guessing a base 'vette, but whatever!

I just want to see one in person. Still not a fan of the tail lights.

I like everything else about the car though, and the direction that Mazda has taken it in. Lighter is better.

The tailight looks a little funky in the back. The back end is very short compared to the front end. I've seen one in person just once, but it looked promising!

2200lb for a car in 2015 is insane!

I love the new tail lights. I'm glad Mazda decided to "manly up" the Miata just a little. It was waaaay to feminine in the past, but the new shape looks promising.

I hate the new tails. Headlights came from the E92 3-series. Same designer did the 1 series BMW.

Oh get the eff out with your "this looks like that, that looks like this. they copied this." Nobody cares.

And you hate everything. No need to remind others in every thread you post.

I'll drive the S2k to the dealership and report back in the next few days (provided I get time).

Dayum that looks awesome in that set up. The front/side lips help this car more than any other I've ever seen and those wheels are perfect.

Yeah, first 1000 I believe are Soul Red Launch Editions. 1 in Georgia has already been wrecked. Rear ended by a DUI in a F150 & pushed into another car. Not sure on the speed, but it took the hit like a champ, not a serious amount of visible damage.

I've looked online at the 2 closest to me recently & didn't see any in their online inventory

Came from BMW? The headlights look NOTHING like they came from BMW. So a designer can't work for another company? GTFO.

Dumbest post I've read in awhile
