Name your biggest pet peeve while driving
Not setting this up as a poll because there are too many possible answers.
The impetus for this question is that a colleague and I were venting our spleens about the idiot drivers on DC roads and we both agreed that I get annoyed about so many things that I should carry a digital camera in my car, take pictures of things that annoy me, and start a web page to vent.
So for me this poll topic is very difficult because at any given moment a lot of things will annoy me. But I think my biggest pet peeve, day in and day out, is people who think that highway on-ramps are passing lanes. I am not talking about a cloverleaf interchange where you can exit, drive down the exit, then get back on--just the scenario where a ramp enters the highway and has a short acceleration lane for the merging traffic.
That is to say, you're in slow traffic in the right lane of the highway (say, I-395 near the Pentagon, for those who know the DC area). An on-ramp enters the highway from the right. There is always some jackass who changes lanes to the right, into the on-ramp, then races down to the end of the merge lane and expects to be let back in. I wish I had a grille-mounted missile launcher to nail these people.
Honorable mentions, or I suppose DIShonorable mentions, go to:
*People who stop in the merge lane and try to merge at the earliest possible moment instead of going to the end and taking turns (this only annoys me when the traffic is crawling--if traffic is going full speed, just merge wherever you can)
*People who don't signal
*People who drive on the shoulder
*People who don't use their headlights at night
*People who don't get out of the left lane
*Pedestrians who ignore the "Don't Walk" sign and expect you to yield to them
*People who don't yield when they're turning left
*People who don't yield when they're turning right on red
*People turning right in front of you who insist on yielding to the people who don't yield when turning left
*People who back into parking spaces without a signal when there are cars coming down the aisle behind them (what do they think we are, freakin' mindreaders or something?) Actually I find back-in parkers generally irritating.
*People who drive into the E-ZPass lane, then stop and expect to pay cash
*People who stop at the first gas pump instead of pulling through to the second one so that someone else can use the first one
*People who drive with their fog lights on when it isn't foggy
*People who don't clean the snow off the tops of their vehicles
*VDOT's lousy highway signs

Absolutely... the DC area has a prominence of idiots behind the wheel.
Left-lane bandits should be hog-tied.
The people that insist on pulling out in front of you, then going 10mph.
Those people the figure the first 10 seconds of a red light does not apply to them.

people who dont turn the headlights on while its raining, in the morning or when its getting dark. People slowing down about 200 yards before they turn (without their blinker on)

Slow drivers in the left lane make me furious. Everyone says they hate tailgaters, and I'm no fan either, but when you're doing 52 in the fast lane of a 65, I'm going to be about 8 inches off your bumper until you get the f$%k out of my way.

People who can't pick a speed and stick with it. . . typical situation: Guy changes lanes infront of you and drives decidedly slower than you were, say 50 in a 55 zone. You try to pass the guy and they speed up. He finally lets up and you pass them. Then ten miles down the road he passes you going 75, then you pass him a little while later cause he driving 50 again. . . That's just F'in stewpit.

Let me get you guys' opinion. When you are driving, and your wife/girl/whatever is in the passenger seat, and you come up to a stop sign and you inch up cause you cant see to your right and she says its clear, do you go, or do you wait until you confirm that it is clear. My wife gets pissed at me when I dont take her word, but its not me, its my brain not letting my foot press the gas until I see its clear. Also, I hate people who dont signal to change lanes, tailgaters, cell phone yappers, and people who just cannot operate a huge SUV.

I can't stand people who merge onto a 65 mph freeway at 30mph. But because you're stuck behind them, you have to merge at that speed too. Argh.
Also, i hate big SUV's and raised trucks.

driving is a challenge, and i don't really care for any of the things above....slow drivers give me the opportunity to speed...I love driving, its a passion...I enjoy every bit of it, may it be speeding down the highway, or crawling in traffic....I love being in my car too, maybe thats what I like.

Non-signalers : You'all can die and rot in hell, seriously. The damn thing is RIGHT behind the steering wheel, is it really THAT much to ask you to move it the direction you are turning the wheel?! These kind of idiots have created soooo many dangerous scenarios on the streets & freeway that its not funny.
I always, always signal. The only time I don't is when I am coming home @ 2 am pulling up to my driveway because there is absolutely no one on my street by that time.

Jammed highways. It's infuriating to see a 65 MPH Limit sign and every single fucking car is going 35 because two semi-trucks are running parallel to each other. 
I WANNA BREAK THE LAW DAMMIT.
Non-signalers are bad too.
All in all, I try my hardest to stay away from traffic and run alone, no one in front of me, behind me, especially beside me because they act like I'm invisible then get a few inches close to my door because they're trying to get into my lane.

#1 Drivers not signaling
#2 When drivers on the right do not yielding to drivers on the left.
#3 When drivers make 2 lanes when it clearly 1 lane.

I shoot people
I hate those people who think... because they're in the tail of a pack of cars... it's "okay" for them to run a red light... especially on left turns... whenever I see those fvckers... I just gun it when MY light turns green.... I love seeing their faces thinking they about to get hit.
I hate rich people thinking that just because they drive a nice car... they can double park or NOT stop for stop signs... (I've said this a 1000 times before I'll say it again... "fuck the rich")
