My Roommate's VW GTI

We just picked it up from the body shop friday night. I think it looks great.

So far we've got an APR chip with 93 octane mode, fitted some '03 Acura CL HIDs from a wrecked ride, and this Oettinger bodykit. I'm trying to help him decide what we're going to do next, be it the suspension or more power.

Nice ride.

Any idea what kinda times the GTI can pull with that APR chip?

no... we don't have any times yet b/c he's not really into racing at all. He just likes to drive his car. I've been egging him to go to the tracks with me for some time now but he's not really a racer.

With just the '93 octane APR upgrade I've heard anywhere as fast as in the 14.5s... I know that there's tons of other more tangible mods he could do that would significantly lower that time.

yeah, the HIDs actually fit perfectly right in. H7 bulbs are so similar to the D2Rs.

The apr chip boosts the little 1.8 from 180 hp to 225 hp if im not mistaken (at least thats what it is for the a4 1.8t)

that thing hauls w/ just the chip!

Those chipped GTIs are fast!!!! I ran one about a week ago from a 80 punch and I pulled about a car to 120 when he caught me. I started to pull again at around 125 when I got back into VTEC. Don't underestimate them or you'll be looking at their tails. If I didn't have headers i would have lost. BTW this was done with no traffic on a long straight highway.
