Color looks AMAZING in the light! Pretty sweet pickup but the MPG is dissappointing... Might get better when you get your shifting sorted out? I know I was getting super low MPG in my Z when I first learned stick.

Changing gears, I wonder why Mitsubishi doesn't make the rest of their cars as great as the Evo. Even if it results in an across the board price increase, I think this will benefit Mitsu in the long run.

Nice car man, have fun with it. I think I only got 150 miles out of my first tank when i picked up my LGT, although i was on it from the get go.....and yeah, you just have to get used to seeing the tach all high when cruising on the highway.

Yeah the gas mileage is going up slightly so once I get my shifting sorted out and I stay off boost I could probably get around 20mpg. I've also done 95% city driving since I got it so 17-18 is right on with the EPA estimate.

I actually learned stick on my friend's 05 LGT with full bolt ons and stock turbo. It really is a pleasure to drive. Fast and very comfortable. He's going to be upgrading to a GT35R and FMIC soon so that thing is going to fly!

So the paint is swirled like crazy. Considering a full detail like the ones you see over in Wash and Wax. How long does a detail like that usually last before you start seeing swirls again?

Nice pick up!!
Whenever i plan on getting a new car I want a manual too. The biggest thing I'm scared of is driving it home from the dealer
How was that experience?? I can drive manual, but for the most part I've driven a friends civic in a parking lot. And a few other cars. But all in parking lots. True its only 1st gear thats the hardest, but I'd be afraid of any hills haha

As for hill starts, don't do it on the first day. Get a feel for the clutch first and then it's pretty straightforward. I've encountered a few hill starts so far and it wasn't an issue. You will learn FAST.

Thanks guys, it really is amazing to drive. Partly those sticky tires too. Not looking forward to replacing them after 15K miles though....
Thanks! Okay so I had my friend (who I learned stick from) come with me when I took delivery, as well as to the previous two test drives in the car. I also had only driven in parking lots or short distances with no one on the road before then. I felt a little more confident with his guidance so I didn't end up stalling as I left the dealership![rofl](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/rofl.gif)

Hills ![omg](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/omg.gif)
Once my brother got a little bit of a feel for the clutch and how to work an MT, I made him do hill starts until he got the hang of it. It took a while, but helped him immensely on the roads.
Colour looks better with every picture you post
Is that IP display configurable? I think the background looks cool.

Thanks. What year do you have? Any worthwhile modifications that I should know about? Or general tips?
Ohh man I don't know how I would feel about hill starts everyday haha. I live on a pretty flat island so I don't need to worry about it too much but I've seen some of those SoCal hills before and they don't look like fun.
You could always cheat a little and use the hand brake until you get the hang of it![Thumbs Up](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
Thanks man. I don't think it's really configurable but I can take a picture of all the different screens.
Thanks, as soon as I saw this color at the dealership, I knew it was the one.

The mod bug is biting at me hard. So close to ordering an intake and cat back exhaust ![Why Me](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/whyme.gif)
It's unbelievable how easy it is to make power in this car. Just an intake, CBE, and boost controller will put you at the 300awhp/315awtq mark, and that's before tuning. I'm so used to the Honda J-series motors that don't make power unless you invest your life savings.

Congrats!
A lot of the modern cars have the brake hold assist feature for the hills. My Mini has it, and i recall driving Subaru's that also had it. It simply holds the brake for 2 seconds while you're transitioning from brake to clutch/gas, definitely helps if you're on a hill. Aside from that, the easiest advice I can offer while starting in a hill, is while on the brake, engage the clutch and put the car in gear, and slowly creep off the clutch while watching the rpm gauge, until you see the revs start to dip slightly, you're right at the engagement point, release the brake and the car should be standing still and not rolling back, which you give it a little gas and release the clutch fully and you're on your way! This is considered riding the clutch though, so don't make a habit of it if it isn't necessary for you to do wherever you are.
You're in my area so if you need any more tips or lessons, I'll be more than happy to help! I've been driving manual for a long time now, before I decided to have one as a DD, which is now for the last 10 years or so!
Good luck!

The Evo most definitely does not have any sort of hill start assist haha. But I got the hang of it now, holding the brake and coming off the clutch about half way, and then giving it gas so it doesn't roll back that much. Thankfully, I don't live in an area with too many serious hills.
I will definitely let you know if I have any questions/need tips Shoof. Also my parents are looking for a new car in a few months so you may be hearing from me soon![Thumbs Up](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
I know I said I wouldn't mod this car but I am about the pull the trigger on an intake, cat back exhaust, and upper intercooler pipe! Hoping for 280hp/300tq at the wheels! No tuning necessary! Stock is 250/280ish.

My workplace is next to these huge satellite dishes. They are over 2 stories tall. Also the yellow NY plate doesn't look so bad on blue cars. I definitely don't regret my color choice.

Do some research and learn to prevent swirls when you wash the car. Mitsu paint is thin. Average paint of most cars is at 3.5 mils while the Evo is only at 2.5. Too much swirl correction and you're going to be left with very little paint on the car.

that sucks. I know Mitsu had cheap paint but I didn't know it was that bad.
By the way, the vinyl wrap looks amazing

The ride is very firm but not uncomfortable. It doesn't break your back on big bumps. The payoff in the corners is worth having the stiffer suspension. It handles like it's on rails. I'm also usually having too much fun driving to notice the harsher ride.

So about the whole not modding thing....
...just bought an intake, rear upper intercooler pipe (to replace the OEM fabric one), cat back exhaust, and Cobb Accessport![Tomato](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/tomato.gif)
Still gonna do tint and a new shift knob. But I think that's it for a while.

With those mods and the AP, I should be looking at an additional 40-50 awhp/tq. I'll try to dyno the car in a couple months.
