My new '13 Cosmic Blue Lancer Evo X GSR

Figured you guys would appreciate a simple thread title

Some of you may know that I have been looking to replace my 2G TL for a while. I graduated undergrad, got a new job, and it was time to move on from my tired TL. Well I finally found a replacement.

Here's the old TL in its glory days....

It didn't look anything like that when I sold it. Got 4K in parts and sold the car for 4.2K. 8.2K out of a 10 year old car with 136K on the clock? I'm happy with that.

Sold it this morning and picked up the new car a few hours ago. 2013 Cosmic Blue with Black leather interior. List price was close to 42K. Paid 4K down + ttr and got it for 299 a month for 24 months with 12K miles per year. It's got every option except navi. I am planning to buy it after the lease ends.

Needless to say I am having an effing BLAST driving this thing.

I don't really have any big mod plans with this car, especially because it's a lease. Only things I had in mind were Rally Armour mud flaps, 35% tint, and new shift knob.

Some say the interior is cheap, the ride is too rough, the cockpit is too noisy, and the gas mileage is terrible. I'm having too much fun to care

More pics will be posted soon. Enjoy!

I actually could have gotten a cheaper lease on an automatic Evo MR but I was determined to get a manual

I really liked my friend's Evo X. The interior was good enough IMO, and the ride was better than his Evo IX. Wish I could say something good about the mileage

Congrats on the purchase! It's a fun car no matter the weather or road conditions. What kind of real world mileage do most people get with these?

Thanks everyone! That picture I posted above is partly why I chose this color. It looks stunning and even better in person

I'm so anxious at work right now. I may leave a little early just to go driving. This is my first manual car and I'm still trying to smooth out my shifts. So I'm taking it easy, keeping it under 65 and no WOT or full boost until I get better at driving stick and after break-in period. Regardless, I'm still having a ton of fun in the winding back roads doing 40 mph

Oh also the Brembo's bite freakin HARD.

If you do drop it (which is a really high chance) You should dump it to the ground, take pics, then put it to the height you want it at :p

I'll consider it just for you.

Someone asked about gas mileage...

It's going up slightly everyday. I've done mostly city miles so far. If I reach 20mpg average, I'll be happy. That's about what my TL was doing.

Congrats!!

In conjunction with great Evo lease deals and my sporadic bouts of mid-life 'considerations', I've thought about throwing caution to the wind an snagging an MR. (MR because I'd need a TC-SST -- read: auto tranny -- in order to leverage myself back into the good graces of my wife after swapping an Accord for an Evo. )

Keep us updated on your experiences.

Will definitely keep this thread updated. To give you an idea, they were offering me a base Evo MR for $259/month 12K miles/yr for 24 months. Roughly $4K down + TTR. If I had worked on that deal I could have maybe convinced them to lower the down payment to 3700 or so with 259/month. I think that's an amazing value. The MR is supposed to be more comfortable as well.

In other news, I got a chance to play with the BT audio and the Rockford Fosgate sound system. Holy shit 710 watts is no joke.
