My Garage Queen

Some of you have seen my minty 220,000 mile Legend. Here is my Garage Queen, a 2000 Chevy Tahoe with only 64,000 miles. The funny thing is, it has more rattles than my Legend.

You definitely know how to take care of your cars. I try to do the same....to the extent that I handwash my daily drivers in 20-degree weather and pressure-clean all the salt out of my wheelwells in the same conditions. No rustbuckets here!

Well, they clean up pretty nice, but the Tahoe only gets washed once or twice a month (It also only gets driven a whole 500-600 miles a year), and the Legend gets a bath every 1.5-2 weeks, so the Tahoe gets very dusty and the Legend gets filthy (by my standards) by the time I wash them. The wheel wells in both cars are very stained, I wish they would be black again. I think I'm going to go at them with a stiffer tooth brush next time I wash them.

To anyone that is wondering: this car has been halfway repainted

Back in 2005 I was driving the Tahoe back from Six Flags Magic Mountain in the carpool lane and didn't notice the oil in the road. the freeway was packed, but when I started sliding, somehow I zigzagged my way through 4 lanes safely and smashed my rear end into the concrete wall in the emergency lane. Luckily it was the corner of the car, so it was repairable, but basically the back half of the car plus the rear driver's side door is repainted.
