My beater's progress.

I love looking at what this car was, and what it is now.

The AutoTrader ad:

The day I picked it up at my house:

Few days later, off to get brake lines redone:

Couple weeks later it got detailed:

...and finally present day, new rims, replaced the back door, Redline tranny fluid and 12 inch sub and 400w amp

I've had the car since October and aside from the brake lines, nothing has gone wrong with the car. Started in the coldest of weather and keeps me cool in the hottest of days

Think of this as an ode to my $900.00 beater

Aside from a rust spot on the hatch (which is soon to be replaced as soon as I can find a good one) it is rust free.

The underside is very clean, and ALL maintenance was previously done at the VW dealership.

^^Are you going to paint the whole thing or just the hatch once you get it?

That is unless the paint matches perfectly. Looks good

I'm going to wait it out and find a red one so no painting.

I waited for a long time to find a red passenger rear door, but I found it. The paint was chalky white and had marker all over it. A day with a claybar, high speed polisher and very good rubbing compound the door looks brand new.

I really like to see some interior shots or system (subs) shots.
BTW, amazing detail job there!

I will snap some interior pics soon, nothing fancy though.

The system isn't anything spectacular. 2 Rockford Fosgate 3.5 in the dash, 2 Pioneer 5.25 in the doors and 2 Pioneer 4x6 in the hatch area. The amp is 400w Pioneer and the sub is a 12'' Rockford Fosgate P2. No special set up, it's just sitting in an enclosed box in my trunk. I didn't get it for mind blowing bass, just some enough to make everything sound good since I got zero bass from the speakers alone. Never the less, the 12'' still pumps pretty good in such a small car.

Thanks for the compliments
