I am going to merge this with your main topic. Makes more sense to have one "build" thread then to create a new topic for each little mod. I'll leave the exhaust thread separate b/c it would throw the timeline off too much as it has gotten too big... but feel free to put everything else in here.

If you want a title change (My 5.0 (Marilyn) Build Thread) or something... let me know...

Quote: Love switchbacks.
I never knew what they were till a week ago, when someone suggested them. But yes, I love me some switchbacks too. Doesn't it sound like a weapon/knife of some sort tho? lol

Quote: Nice!
Quote: Look great and damn they look bright
thanks guys... yeah, they are "bright" but not THAT bright. You know what I mean? They look oem DRL. There are the other aftermarket HID's that people do, that look SO bad, and are blinding to oncoming. These are parking lights/turn signals made to be DRL's....not headlights. I left my HID's oem.

IMO, these Switchbacks are perrrrrfect.

no problem sir. If anything, you can change the title to "My 5 point ohhhhhh (and build thread)" if you like

thank you.

Thank you sir. I love all my cars... they are polar opposites of each other. Depends on my mood that day...

update:

was home for lunch so I took these daytime vids. Not too dark, not too bright for DRL's. Perfect.

Very nice!
So do you just replace the old turn signal bulbs with these switch backs?

If so, how does it get power for the "parking light"? Does the car still give 12v output to the socket when no signal is selected?

That looks great! Even though I have the ones that alternate white/amber when the turn signal engaged, I love how they look!

Yes sir. Before (stock), the parking light and signal light were one and the same. When parking light on, it is lit a dim amber. When signal is on, it becomes a brighter flashing amber. These new VLEDs replace that one bulb. Now, when parking lights are on, they are a DRL white. Then when signal is on, LED's "switch" to amber, to flash.

Make sense? Pretty cool imo.

You must have the Type 1's? Same brand or diff? I was debating between the two types, but decided on Type 2... personal preference I guess Either way, BETTER than stock

Is there a switchback we can get for our cars? (TSX)

Ah makes sense. How about cars where the signal and parking lamp are separate as in my G? It would be nice to have the white light stay on when not using my signal, but am thinking its not possible with my car.

I would think that could still work. I am guessing the turn signal lamps are still "on" when the parking lights are on, and when the turn signal itself is not engaged? If that's the case, just get the same switchback bulbs... that way they will be DRL on when parking lights are on.

If your turn signal lamps are off no matter what (until turn signal engaged), then I guess you couldn't do it. Hmmmm...maybe someone else can chime in.

I couldn't sleep... for other reasons, so I decided now was the best time to perform the install. Bought LED's from VLED's for rear plate lights and reverse lights and dome lights. Then 6k LED fogs from iJDM.

Install was a snap... I had more issues trying to remove that stupid trunk plastic liner. I didn't bother removing it... I just removed one plastic screw cap then peeled the liner back. Easier than mucking with the whole liner and breaking something. Rest of the install was easy... dome light, just pull, done in 2 minutes. Fog light was wasy, just take radiator cover off. Rear plate lights, just 4 screws. Done.

My favorite of the bunch? The interior dome lights and reverse lights!!! Here's some install and completed pics, along with all my halogen OEM lights. What to do with them??? Throw them against the wall? lol...

Here's one side OEM, the other side VLED... see the difference? Love the white.

And now both

The 50 1.8 is my first non kit lens and I've had it on my body for 6 months now...I love it so much it's the only one I shoot with. Absolutely amazing shots, man. Shows what someone that knows what they're doing can do with it. I'm still learning...

Thank you very much sir. Yes, we are all still learning as there is no limit to improvement. I am just amazed at how much I have been missing out on with this lens. The "subject focus" it brings out is amazing. My favorite shot is this...

I liked that one a lot, but was more amazed at the 5.0 emblem one. It's great!
I still have to learn to use it but it was the first time I felt like I was actually artistic with my DSLR.

Can't decide on the shift knob color. How about a comprimise. Black with white stripes:

Although, Marilyn is hibernating now.... Snow forecasted for tomorrow. I did, however, trickle charge her yesterday. I even sat inside just to reminisce... I hate winters.

Don't worry man... Tori will be bearing the abuse of old man winter soon enough. In fact, it's blizzarding right now...

Thx CL! That will be the last of the shots for a while... Marilyn hibernates. However, I DID just go and start her up this pm...backed her into driveway and just listened to her and admired her...
