Mini Vert????

For the GF...Auto & Non (s), most likely.

Anyone here know how these are in terms of reliability?

Looking to spend < 250/mo. Which is a better route? CPO or lease? Thoughts??

whoa. just looked into this further - the lease deals are HORRENDOUS. 450/mo, 36 mo., with the down PMT rolled in (for a non-S auto vert). hahaha. you could get a 35k+ car for that.

so lets talk CPOs/used...bad idea?

CPO/Used isnt a bad idea but they hold resale so well that its almost better to buy new.

crazy high resale value. Not worth it to buy used, in my opinion.

Your equivalent monthly payment might almost be lower if you paid cash for a new one, drove it 36 months, and then sold it for its book value. That's an option, though you have to promise yourself you'll part with the car after 36 months, and you'll be out the cash now.

My ex had one, which I convinced her to get. It was the previous supercharged generation, a 2006. It had an auto with paddle shifters, that thing was so ridiculously fun to drive in the canyons with the top down.

I'm dealing with the stupid high resale value right now...

Aren't Miatas around 25K new? Seems like it would be a reasonable choice.

You can find a used current-gen MX5 Grand Touring for about $16-17k and it'll have reasonable miles.

I might have considered one if it had 220hp and not 167.
