MFA - Cars of Ralph Lauren Exhibit (56K beware)
Museum of Fine Arts in Boston is having this exhibit through July. (www.mfa.org)
Features cars from Ralph Lauren's private collection, including a handful of Bugattis, Ferraris, Porsches, Bentleys, etc. Absolutely beautiful cars, I'd recommend the exhibit to anyone in the area.
Some pics below. PM me if you want full size images or other shots of certain cars. These are about half-size - I have several shots of each car, I just posted some of my favorites. Didn't want to kill the servers.
Enjoy
Porsche 959
Benz Count Trossi SSK
Bugatti Type 57SC Atlantic Coupe (One of three built)
1961 Ferrari 250
Gullwing Benz
McLaren
Jaguar XKD
1955 Porsche 550 Spyder (James Dean's death ride) with 959 in background
1961 250 GTO
My girlfriend said this car was ugly. I think we need to break up.

Maybe she's just a little confused. Hopefully you can make her see the evil of her ways
JC, I mentioned this to AD before, and he wasn't aware of it, but the Museum of Transportation in Brookline has some interesting shows during the year too. I've been to the microcar, porsche, and vw bus events there in the past.
Here's a link to the museums website http://mot.org/index_flash.html
Here's some pics I took at Porschefest 2003, Porschefest 2002, and TransporterFest 2002

Sweet pics. Love the classic porsches (in case you couldn't tell by how many pics I posted, they're my favorite car). I'll have to give that a look.

that old school benz looks like something Hitler would drive. (like in the movie Rat Race, John Lovitz drives around Hitlers Benz)
its awesome how the front air dams of the 1961 Ferrari can still be seen in the style of the Modena!

I wrote the story here about a year ago, but I can't seem to find it..
Here's the highlights: I was driving on I-684 in NY state near Bedford NY around 2pm on a Friday afternoon when a McLaren F1 pulled on the highway. I was driving my Z and a few minutes, the F1 pulled next to me. He looked over and reeved his engine, then took off. The McLaren took off like I've never seen anything before. I didn't bother chasing as it would be like me racing a hayabusa on a moped.
I did some research, and the driver looked exactly like Ralph Lauren, he got off at the Bedford NY exit (he has a house there) and the F1's license plate was the same as I saw in one of the pictures of RL's F1.
Probably the best car-related experience I ever had. Ralph Lauren trying to race me on the highway in his F1. The car is amazing looking in person, sounds amazing and is insanely fast.

did you not trip out on how tiny it is? Thing looks big in pictures, but it's tiny when you are next to it.
