Mercedez Benz Gullwing?

Any of you guys know how much one of these is worth? I just saw one pulling into Mercedez Benz of Santa Monica. My driving instructor said it was worth 500k+? Thats freaking nuts

I watched one cross the block at an auction in Boca Raton for $475,000. One of the most sexy cars ever.

They go for at least $300K and up:

Here are two that were on ebay:
1955 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing
1956 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing

The other thing with them is if a celebrity so much as farted in one you can add 50% or more to the average price.

haha ...kids.

at first i thought you meant you saw the ORIGINAL benz gullwing. and i was thinking, no way.

there may be just as much prestige in owning a spotless gullwing rather than the new SLRs. wouldnt be suprised it a perfect conditioned one ran for just about the same $ as the SLR.

No, I saw the gullwing that downunder posted. The 1950s one, not the new MB SLR

a friend of mine has seen one of the original Gullwings, located at a Chicagoland MB dealer. I forgot the whole story behind it, but he said something about it being one of the original 2 in a certain color or something. Sorry, I have no info on it, but i'll try asking him.
